This is one of the best bakeries in the northeastern United States. I had read previous views and was looking forward to a visit. It did not disappoint. Huge variety of pastries and cakes and scones to die for. The coffeeis not as dark as Starbucks but had great taste. Spent about $12 each day for two items and two... More

This place was so nice and quaint with a nice local feel. Best pastries and selection I've ever experienced. The apple turnover and blueberry muffin were perfect! Not too too sweet or overdone. Prices were very reasonable. Wish I was driving home so I could bring some things back with me.

The congo bars here are scrumptious! Unfortunately, when I returned the next evening there weren't any left. Their piping hot mint tea also hit the spot during a cold evening stroll.

We spent the weekend in Portsmouth and ventured over the bridge into Kittery, Maine. We had a decent breakfast at the hotel in Portsmouth and wanted to save our appetites for dinner, but want a small treat early afternoon. Someone in a thrift shop recommended Bread and Roses Bakery. We looked at the really sweet stuff and remembered our promises... More

After a brisk walk on Foot Bridge Beach, my husband wanted something warm. Not being coffee or tea drinkers, we wondered if we could find any hot chocolate in town. After overhearing someone mention getting some, too, we asked where they were going and sauntered over to Bread & Roses. Well, hot chocolate was scrumptious and it took all our... More

Our rental landlord left a Blue Berry Crumb cake that my family quickly consumed. It was very good warmed up. I visited the bakery and bought a second one which also quickly disappeared along with a blueberry pie. The filling of the pie was very good but the crust was dry and had no taste at a hefty $20. price... More

Good coffee and good cookies and other snacks. Love to stop in here on semi-annual trip to Ogunquit.

Oh. My. Goodness. Everything here is mouth watering. "Jason's wedding cake" had my boyfriend and I fighting over the last bite. Everything I've had from here is amazing. Around lunch time they have homemade pizza by the slice ... wow. Just wow.

We stopped at Bread and Roses to have a car-snack for a day of sightseeing on the Maine coast. The place smells like your grandmother's kitchen and was filled with every kind of pastry and dessert you can imagine. We asked for two scones--one blueberry/lemon and one cranberry/orange. They were not only delicious; they were huge! Not a place for... More

We stumbled upon this bakery while going through Ogunquit on our way to Bar Harbor and it was fantastic. You could smell the coffee out on the street and we just followed the aroma inside! Best coffee we have ever had! And the cookies.... they were to die for!! We had to get several for the road. Definitely recommend and... More
