The Colonel's is one of the only places to find a sandwich in NE Harbor. It's right on Main Street, very easy to find. I wanted to order something to go and I'm a vegetarian. The only non-bakery item on the bakery menu was a sandwich (a sign stated that anything on the restaurant menu could be ordered to go,... More

We have been here before a few years back before the fire. They have really remodeled it nicely. The food was really good and could not have had a better waiter. Prices are good and the bakery up front has the best doughnuts around. Great place to eat, and you never know who you will see. A few years back... More

Pleasant atmosphere and friendly folk. The signature dishes are fish chowder and onion rings. I had the fish chowder (more like soup than its thicker brother, clam chowder) and it was very good. We did not get the onion rings. The lobster pizza (sounded awful to me) was really good and the fish and chips were excellent. But the real... More

My son and I wanted to take a scenic drive out of Bar Harbor to a quieter location. We saw an ad for the Colonel's and decided to give it a try. I had an excellent lobster salad and my son had an equally tasty fried fish - I think it was haddock. The service was friendly, we enjoyed some... More

Happened to be passing by at dinner last evening and decided to stop in for a meal with the family. The atmosphere is nice, very clean. We were dress very casually after a day in the park as were many others, but there were also folks dressed nicely. Would have felt comfortable either way. I ordered the Lobster and Scallop... More

Sorry, but if you give me frozen oven fries (chips) you're getting a bad review. The food here is bland, lazy, uninspiring and way overpriced. I'm shocked at the positive reviews this place is getting, I assume these are for the bakery part at the front of the building (which looked ok) and not the dreadful restaurant. Pleasant servers prevent... More

We stopped here for lunch while visiting the area. I had found a few restaurants in my gps. This was a good find. We both had the French dip sandwich which was cut in sections to make it easier to dip into the good size bowls we each received. Service was excellent. We had no long wait.

We stumbled upon this place and were very happy that we did. Nice laid back lunch. Delicious fish chowder and crab melt sandwich. Attentive service and nice atmosphere. Great break from the crowds in Bar Harbor.

On our first day in Northeast Harbor, four ladies ventured here for breakfast. Our server was nice, but it took about two hours for us to be served with all our food. One of the ladies had to go to the kitchen to pick up her own toast after waiting over 20 minutes for it. Good food, but be prepared... More

We were driving through and this was the only place we saw. What a find! I can never find a restaurant that serves GOOD gluten-free bread. Took advantage of it and had a delicious chicken salad sandwich. Other sandwiches are made with their freshly baked bread which looked great. They had a number of things we wanted to try, but...
