My husband and I found Colonel's Restaurant when we were looking for a place to get lunch while visiting Acadia National Park. We were on the Loop Road in the park and had about 2 hours until our carriage ride so we needed to find a place to eat and Jordan Pond parking was full. We drove over to Northeast... More

I just moved to Northeast Harbor and I was eager to find a home-style place to eat with friends and family. This was just the thing! Te prices were reasonable, the waitstaff was very friendly, and the food was delicious. I will be returning to eat there and I suggest that you do too!

Nice, casual restaurant in town. We ordered a variety of food and everyone was pleased. The spinach artichoke dip was good, as were the scallops. Service was quick and pleasant. A bit of advice - ask your server exactly what the dish is. I ordered salmon but the menu didn't clearly indicate that it was a sandwich (maybe I missed... More

We had a wonderful lunch - lobstah roll and fish chowder were fresh and tasty! Service was great. The best was when we stopped by the bakery on our way out. Chocolate doughnut - WONDERFUL! I wish I had bought a dozen! :)

The Colonel's is one of the only places to find a sandwich in NE Harbor. It's right on Main Street, very easy to find. I wanted to order something to go and I'm a vegetarian. The only non-bakery item on the bakery menu was a sandwich (a sign stated that anything on the restaurant menu could be ordered to go,... More

We have been here before a few years back before the fire. They have really remodeled it nicely. The food was really good and could not have had a better waiter. Prices are good and the bakery up front has the best doughnuts around. Great place to eat, and you never know who you will see. A few years back... More

Pleasant atmosphere and friendly folk. The signature dishes are fish chowder and onion rings. I had the fish chowder (more like soup than its thicker brother, clam chowder) and it was very good. We did not get the onion rings. The lobster pizza (sounded awful to me) was really good and the fish and chips were excellent. But the real... More

My son and I wanted to take a scenic drive out of Bar Harbor to a quieter location. We saw an ad for the Colonel's and decided to give it a try. I had an excellent lobster salad and my son had an equally tasty fried fish - I think it was haddock. The service was friendly, we enjoyed some... More

Happened to be passing by at dinner last evening and decided to stop in for a meal with the family. The atmosphere is nice, very clean. We were dress very casually after a day in the park as were many others, but there were also folks dressed nicely. Would have felt comfortable either way. I ordered the Lobster and Scallop... More

Sorry, but if you give me frozen oven fries (chips) you're getting a bad review. The food here is bland, lazy, uninspiring and way overpriced. I'm shocked at the positive reviews this place is getting, I assume these are for the bakery part at the front of the building (which looked ok) and not the dreadful restaurant. Pleasant servers prevent... More
