A beautiful view, excellent service and very good food. Their lobster bisque is the best I have ever had. The grilled halibut was perfect, the grilled tuna salad was good (but romain lettuce should not be in the description as it is all but absent). The lobster cakes were very good and the accompanying 'warm slaw' enjoyable. I thought the... More

My wife and I choose this location for a special dinner to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. The location offered an exceptional view overlooking the water with wonderful decor in keeping with the age of the building. Staff were welcoming and great in every way. Our main server "Nam" was friendly with the love of his job very obvious. Our... More

This was an excellent addition to our stay. The food was well prepared, fresh, tasty and served with style. I had the citrus salmon which was so good I had it the next night too. My husband had duck and thoroughly enjoyed it too. Desserts were perfect too. They can even make a cup of strong hot tea...... A very... More

This restaurant was prominent for years, then fell in quality, and it is back. Ate there last night fo the first time in years, and it was fabulous-food, service, view, everything.

This is the first review I've written in recent memory. My wife and I had been to the Asticou about 10 years ago, and remembered it at that time for the view from the deck, but not especially for the food. Recently, the restaurant has been taken over by a Boston chef who previously ran a very successful catering company... More

See my review of the Asticou Hotel. I wonder how such a marvelous restaurant can continue to survive with so few guests and such superior food and service. Please let the people in Bar Harbor know that they could have an elegant night out in Northeast Harbor.

My husband and I stumbled into Peabodys quite by accident while driving around MDI on a rainy day. It was a step back in time to a grand old hotel. We had lunch in a dining room, complete with white tablecloths, that overlooked the harbor. The atmosphere was wonderful. We found the wait staff to be very attentive. We savored... More

We enjoy a glass of wine and lobster roll for lunch at the Asticou in Northeast Harbor from time to time, but the frosting on the cake was the Sunday Brunch. The view from the deck of NE Harbor is stunning on a clear day. It is easy to see why so many brides choose the Asticou for their weddings.The... More

We heard it was under new management and thought we'd give it another try. We were seated on the deck and had a wonderful view of NE Harbor. Prices were high [burger for $15. etc.] and service was at "glacial" speed. It took great effort to get a refill on the ice tea. The burger was luke-warm when served and... More

Excellent restaurant with amazing view. The service is very professional, maybe with a tendency to overdue (relax, we are not running for the title of best restaurant in the world:-). Cuisine is very good we both had the lobster pasta, a delight. This is expensive but quality has a price and this is the best dinner we had in the... More
