Good place for lunch

We were a party of 6 and had a very nice lunch. The lobster roll was really good, the lobster stew was great as well, with big chunks of lobster meat. The popovers delicious but be sure to ask for them to be served warm. Service was a bit slow from drinks, to food, etc. but overall a pleasant... read more

The Asticou Inn and Restaurant is now being managed by the Acadia Corp, former managers of the Jordan Pond House. All the wonderful food we enjoyed for so many years at Jordan Pond (which is now unbelievably crowded and under an inferior management group) has been reinstituted at Asticou - the popovers, the lobster stew, the tomato basil soup and... This lukewarm review is based on a single visit this summer in which the quality of the food and service fell far short of what we experienced on previous visits. We learned that the kitchen was now being managed by a different company. Asticou Inn is an elegant inn (I believe the main building was built at the turn of... More

Probably the classiest eating establishment we visited on our three week excursion. A little more expensive than the other restaurants we had tried, but the service was impeccable and food divine. The lobster stew capped off a week of fabulous eating along with their famous popovers. Cap that off with blueberry pie topped with a scope of homemade blueberry ice... More

we stopped for lunch and ate in the cafe, not the restaurant. Service was very good, the food was good, not extraordinary but good.

The view and grounds are very nice. The service was awkward and the food not all that well prepared. The outdoor deck atmosphere was nice, but the inside space was not as inviting.

We ate breakfast after our stay here. It was pretty standard. My husband had Eggs Benedict and I had bacon and eggs. My scrambled eggs were overdone, but the view was beautiful. I also could have done without the waiter who smelled of cigarettes...its a little less than appetizing.

On a previous visit to Arcadia I recall eating 'popovers' (which I'd liken to a slightly sweet Yorkshire Pud) at another more well known local establishment. An insider tip was that the chef has moved to the Asticoua and enjoying a couple of freshly cooked popovers with jam and tea overlooking the North East harbour was a very nice way... More

We booked a short excursion during a cruise stop to Bar Harbor that included a lobster bake. What a delightful surprise to have our tour bus stop at this lovely historic inn. We were immediately seated in a room overlooking the gardens and shoreline. Soon were enjoying the best lobster dinner I have ever had. Our meal included a whole... More

Ranger Bob recommended lunch in this elegant hotel when he pointed out the beautiful building from our boat in the bay, so we decided to give it a try. Perfect post cruise choice. It seems like everywhere you look in Acadia the view is spectacular, but looking out over the bay while enjoying a meal never gets old. We shared... More
