Good food

The food here is delicious, we ate breakfast and lunch here most days at the Inn. The restaurant is staffed mainly by college kids, so the service isn't exactly impeccable, but we also tended to eat quite late when I think there were fewer waiters. The views are beautiful and if the weather is... read more

Since the change in management last summer, the Asticou is nice again...really quite wonderful. Yes, it is a bit pricey but the setting is one of the very best in New England! Pleasant and efficient waitstaff made us feel welcome and had great customer service skills. Varied menu, much like their previous property at the Jordan Pond House in Acadia.... More

I lived in Northeast Harbor for last two summers and I can say that service and value of restaurant in Asticou are on top level. Food is delicious, view is wonderful, and servers and restaurant managers do their best to provide good service. I heard that a lot of people complain about bad wifi internet, and true that can be... Since Acadia Corporation took over this has gone from good to great. The menu is more diverse, and the popovers are wonderful. The view is good as ever and the service is superior!

We ate lunch here after touring nearby gardens - (Thuya and Asticou Azalea Gardens.) There's a lovely and spacious dining-room, with attentive service by keen, if unprofessional, youngsters working for the summer. It's a charming place and the food was fine. Lunch here is a nice end to morning outing.

Since the Acadia Corporation has stepped in to run the restaurant it is reminiscent of the Jordon Pond House. Had a wonderful meal and the service was excellent. I am looking forward to going back to sit on the deck and enjoy more popovers in the sun.

Eating at Peabody's one has to remember that this is country Maine. Eating is pretty early with the bar closing at 8.30. However, food is pretty good and fresh and the service friendly and welcoming. At breakfast a little less cooking for the bacon would be good but i general this is a more than adequate country restaurant.

It was more the atmosphere than anything to do with the food. Dining room closes at 8:30, we were the only ones in there at 8. We were concerned about being rushed, they said we wouldn't be and we weren't. A young man and woman served us pleasantly (didn't get their names) and assured us not to hurry. The lounge... More

With so few diners, it was hard to figure out what the staff was doing. Tables had obviously been used. We finally seated ourselves on their south facing porch overlooking a garden and the harbor. A waiter eventually showed up, took our order, but the set ups had no spoons for our coffee. Food was good, hot and not outrageously... More

Great food, beautifully presented, with attentive and welcoming service to match. Not cheap, but you pay for the view and the surroundings. Lovely old hotel. Well worth stopping there for lunch.
