A return trip to this impressive old building brought me and and my friend a yummy lunch off of their menu which is much more extensive than the term "pub food" implies. I had mussels and they were local and delicious. Extensive beer list is a plus also. While others might disagree I prefer this restaurant to King Eider's Pub... More

For the last year and as recent as Oct. 16th 2014, we have eaten here a lot. Many specials every night, great menu of regulars that changes some. Back on now is our favorite Shepards pie made with lamb shank!!! But if they served cardboard, the wait staff would make it great. So lucky to have the staff they have... More

We visited last weekend for the first time and were lucky enough to sit at the bar. The locals were extremely friendly and cordial. We chowed down on Damariscotta Oysters (the best!), onion rings and pizza. Ethan, the bartender took great care of us! We will definitely return the next time we are in Newcastle.

We stopped here for an appetizer and drinks before we were to go on a cruise. We had the oysters New Orleans . They were delicious.. They were served with a nice bread. The tables around us seemed to be enjoying there meals as well. On the recommendation of the table next to us we ordered the onion rings to... More

The staff and patrons welcome you as one of their own! We met friends at the bar and everyone welcomed us out of Towners so warmly!

We have loved this restaurant in the past, but were sorely disappointed this visit. The wine servings were very small and served in juice glasses, not very classy. I ordered the special tenderloin wrapped in bacon and my wife ordered the salmon. My tenderloin ordered rare came well done and not even charred. The waitress took one look and ordered a... More

We recently had the opportunity to go with our whole family to Newcastle Publick House while on vacation in Mid-Coast Maine. My husband and I had driven by NPH many times while staying in the Damariscotta area a few years back, but had never dined at NPH. After reading all the rave reviews, we decided that we had to try... I was NOT in love with the burger that encased a crab patty. Nope. But the service was great. Place is haunted by a kindly ghost named Myrtle. The cook keeps a pink light bulb on in the kitchen to appease her. That was some interesting local color!

Stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The oysters were super fresh and plucked right out of the river that can be seen from the patio or a window seat. I also had a haddock BLT. A sweet twist on a classic sandwich. Delicious!!! Others at the table had burgers and wraps and each was pleased with there dish.... More
