Still Nice, But Not Our Favorite Anymore

This is a great place to go for a larger variety of seafood. It used to be our favorite place until we branched out and realized they had higher fees than other local lobster pounds and the people who worked there were not even close to being as friendly as other places. I think they must be... read more

Family and friends stopped by after a trip to Monhegan for the day and they expressed interest in having a bite to eat a Shaw's. We arrived around 530pm, restaurant was quite busy with the upper deck (15-20 picnic tables overlooking New Harbor in open air) nearly full. Customers stand in line while looking at a menu of seafood cooked... More

This restaurant is no frills. On a harbor with indoor and outdoor seating. You place your order and then pick it up. No servers. Clean and spacious. Family friendly. Lots of seafood. Salads not the best. Pricey.

CG from Philadelphia is right. This is a tourist trap and since there isn't much else around, they're taking advantage of it. My husband and I tried to figure out why we came here again and we had forgotten that we didn't like it last time. I think it's because a few years ago it was really good. We had... More

First of all, the view from the deck alone makes it worth eating here. The food is consistently good. They have a decent selection of draft beers and the price is moderate. It is certainly not fine dining, I would recommend it to anyone whose happens to be in the area and is looking for the real thing in Maine... More

This is a great seafood restaurant, reasonably priced, and it is fun to eat on the outdoor deck overlooking the dock while watching fishermen bringing in their catch. But the big surprise was their fries! I am sort of a connoisseur of fries if there could be such a thing. Cut plainly and lightly browned, piping hot and soft on... More

We had lunch here in the middle of the week...there were only a few tables occupied which made it nice. The beautiful view of the harbor with the boats anchored and lobster boats coming and going and unloading is absolutely wonderful. My wife and I had the lobster roll and I had the scallops. The food was great -- it... More

Picture this - sitting on a deck overlooking a working Maine harbor; eating mussels and lobster, with boats coming in bringing fresh seafood. Wonderful food, and great atmosphere.

We ate outside on the upstairs deck, on a crowded Saturday in July. The scenery of the working harbor was memorable- we enjoyed seeing all the boats with the lobster traps. The food that we ordered inside was good, especially the fish sandwich. We were surprised at the price ($19.99) of the lobster roll, especially being right next to where... More
