Honestly, I've been going to Shaw's since they had a piece of butcher block on each table and a mallet to assist in eating your lobster. There would be shells flying everywhere! It's not that way any more but I still enjoy eating there just as much. First of all there is a million dollar view. Shaw's is located right... More

Not a fancy table cloth restaurant as this is a working lobster wharf. You eat on picnic tables and place your order at the counter but the food is excellent. The real draw for me is the atmosphere. Beautiful views if you are lucky enough to get a table on the outside deck. Great place to grab a bite before... More

Overall the food is quite good and the menu very diverse for a seafood restaurant. Upstairs inside dining also with a deck overlooking the harbor. A raw bar downstairs with ample outdoor seating.

I was delighted to find this restaurant just upstairs from the Hardy Boat Ferry to Monhegan Island. This is not any sort of fancy place - fairly typical lobsta pound found all over Maine. But the lobsta was fresh and delish and the beer was cold (local brews on tap- yay!) VERY casual - Picnic tables, plastic forks, etc. A... More

Good seafood and burgers, rather pricey, though. The view of the harbor from the porch is spectacular.

We ate at Shaws two times during our visit to Maine. The atmosphere is very casual with wood picnic tables and rolls of paper towels at each. The food is served in baskets or paper bowls and everything tastes just as you would hope - fresh and tasty. Our favorite was the lazy man's lobster - this is where they... More

This place reminded me of the old Doyle's in Sydney Harbour. Fairly basic, no frills, fresh fish, reasonable prices. Plastic knives and forks and paper plates might not suit some but the ingredients are the most fresh and and the price reflects what you get.

Shaw's Fish & Lobster Wharf is a long time Maine "fixture". Food was very good. The Lobster roll was good, but will not be my choice next time. The view is great and staff friendly even if a bit harried.

My family and I frequent Shaws every summer on our annual trip to New Harbor. The food is fresh and delicious, the atmosphere casual and scenic. From the lobster roll, crab roll, scallops and daily caught lobster everything is delicious. My favorite is when they have calamari...never that chewy stuff you get away from the coast. The scallops are melt... More

We ate at several little lobster shacks during our recent vacation in Maine and found Shaw's to be the best. The lobster, the lobster roll and the ambiance were all great. Steve and Chris La Quinta, CA
