We always start our October visit to New Harbor at Shaw's

We love it here, we order the big lobsters (they're just as expensive at home in Gloucester, so don't go looking for a deal) downstairs and we had enough leftovers from the 4 of us for lazyman's lobster for our next evening's appetizer. We love the staff, needless to say in early October they are... read more

The food here was fine - walk up and order, receive food later. Warning for those with mobility issues - during our lunch visit it was necessary to walk upstairs to service. I was more impressed initially with the seafood than I was after I'd eaten at many other seafood places later in my trip. The various sides were ordinary... More

Our family stopped in for lobster rolls. The lobster roll was good but not exceptional. Compared to other equal or better lobster rolls in the area, it was too expensive. At the time of our visit, we paid 19.99 at Shaws. In an area where you can't throw a rock without hitting a shack, restaurant or McDonalds selling lobster rolls,... More

Love it there! Had an awesome meal as always. Staff is so kind and helpful. I am never disappointed when I dine there. I am a local so I have time to appreciate Shaw's Wharf unlike these idiot tourists. Shaw's will always be my favorite! Can't wait until May!

We sat at Shaw's, eating oysters, seafood stew, and lobster while having beers and watching the lobstermen unloading the day's catch of live lobsters. While the general experience was pretty great overall, I had better food in other places. The service was just OK- the bartender seemed to be having a far more interesting time of chatting with and paying... More

We were there to help friends close their summer home and enjoy the pumpkin festival so this was our last hurrah. It was disappointing to say the least. It was understaffed, the food was cold and not up to par. If I had not been here before, I certainly would never come again. The ceiling fans were on high speed... More

In the past, Shaw's was our "go-to" restaurant when we visited Maine. They are now off the list; perhaps their numerous positive magazine stories have gone to their heads. Their prices have gone up, the food is substandard, and their staff appears to be bothered by your presence.

We live about 90 minutes from here and combine Shaw's with frequent trips to Pemaquid Point Lighthouse. We are creatures of habit, and this is a wonderful one. I can't speak for the majority of the menu, but the lazy man's lobster, fried clams and onion rings are as good as anywhere I've been. Not so much for the fried... More

If you want a mix of a good lobster pound with some other dining options, this might be the place for you. Lots of fish options - mostly fried. And a good selection from the wine and beer bar. In the lower level you can choose a larger lobster (we choose 3 of the 2 pounders); and upstairs you can... More

Been dining at Shaws for 12 years, usually late September or early October, you can dine on picturesque deck overlooking the harbor, watch lobstermen bring in their lobstah catch of the day, and dine on superb fresh seafood. Let the buttah run down the lobstah, they have a sink in the restaurant to clean you up, and, they have sunset... More
