This is a not to be missed place … perched on an overlook to the breathtaking and unique fjord ..Somes Sound .. you can choose to eat at meticulous green picnic tables with sight and smell of the wood fired lobster pound or in the rustic dining room. Everything here is special .. starting of course with the lobster ..... More

Really good food - incredible fancy drinks and wonderful view. The staff is delightful and the lobster rolls & homemade chips are to die for. All around very good experience with good substantial food.

We had a great dinner here with our 4 kids, one of whom is a toddler. Sat outside where the view was gorgeous (and her chatter wouldn't bother anyone). Staff was super-friendly and let the kids watch as they selected our lobsters- our older kids were fascinated! Service was great and we thought the lobster was fantastic. Only downside was... More

A gallery owner in Bar Harbor recommended Abel's, letting us know that it was a little pricey for a lobster pound but that the ambience was worth it....and it certainly was! Not only was the service outstanding but we were warmly welcomed and made to feel like valued guests. The view overlooking Somes Sound was magnificent. The lobsters were fresh... More

I'm not a huge lobster lover but I was looking forward to one in Maine but I didn't enjoy the lobster here. My husbands was overcooked and my lobster salad was too sweet. Service was good though. And we had a small child - they were very understanding about the mess.

We enjoyed our lunch at Abel's last week. The lobster rolls were good and fresh. it was worth checking out, however we liked several other places in SW Harbor better, which were also less expensive. Still had a nice view on a rainy day.

My partner and I recently had lunch here. Granted it is a bit off the beaten path, but we loved it. The food was great and the harbor view from the outside picnic tables was spectacular. The service was also exceptional. If in Bar Harbor - check it out. PS don't be put off by the large lobster industrial cranes... More

Had lobster, cooked outside in boiling seawater in a special cook house by the sea. View of the water was tremendous. Service was prompt and the welcome we received was outstanding. The price was a bit high for what we got, but the food was great, presented well

Knowing that this restaurant was just opened for the season we decided to go to dinner. The view was incredible. _when we walked through the door we were greeted by a very inebriated lady...when I asked my server who this was she said the owner. We decided to leave and went into the town of Northeast Harbor for dinner...never again...
