After a morning of hiking in rain and fog we were ready to sit indoors for lunch. Island Inn is one of the few places on the island that offers sit down table service. If I read the info correctly it only offers lunch Thurs. - Sun. in July & August. We enjoyed a hummus appetizer shared between 3 was... More

We visited Monhegan Island last weekend and The Island Inn is the place to stay on the island. The staff is courteous and helpful and hence the service was excellent. They have a nice dining room and lovely view of the sun setting. Food was pricey but it was great so I wouldn’t mind paying a bit more. The blueberry... More

The Island Inn is the place to stay on the island. The staff is courteous and helpful, the rooms are well appointed with private bath (second floor rooms are bigger), and the harbor view with private island is so romantic! The restaurant is a nice surprise for a remote destination with only ferry service.

Nice dining room and lovely view of the sun setting. Food was ok, but pricey. You can bring your own alcohol to any of the restaurants on the island as none of them have a liquor license. This was a good option.

My wife and I ate here the second night of our stay in Monhegan Island. We stayed at a B&B nearby. This is a nice dining room with a quality view. It was a bit noisy the night we ate there, though nt overcrowded as the were empty tables available. The waitstaff and maitre d' were very helful and attentive.... More

We did not stay at the Island Inn, but we did try it for dinner one night. I had a filet with butter poached lobster - it was amazing! The view across the harbor to the island of Manana was beautiful - to top it off we got to watch sunset as we at dinner. From appetizer to dessert everything... More

We stayed a week on the island and ate at this restaurant three nights of our visit. The food was exceptionally good. We sampled many things and thought everything was good! My husband loved the bacon wrapped scallops with corn as an appetizer. The desserts are really excellent also! We had homemade blueberry pie, a fabulous rhubarb strawberry crisp and... More

The Island Inn, perched atop Monhegan's Harbor is a classic and comfortable place from which to explore Monhegan's shoreline and Cathedral woods as well as the lupine Gallery, The Black Duck, and Winterworks (that features fine crafts made by island dwellers). One can rock on the porch ( if staying) or sit on the rocks outside the door and watch... More
