Ate breakfast and dinner here over the course of three days: Limp salads, weird grapefruit juice, and unmemorable menu. Order local fare when possible. The fish chowder and anadama toast with homemade blueberry jam were excellent!

Great value for the money and the food was very good. Service was great and we would go back. The restaurant is located in the middle of town and was convenient to our motel.

Chowder, cauliflower soup, haddock and fried clams excellent. The coconut cream pie was decadent and the best we've ever had.

We stopped in late on a Saturday evening...the restaurant was full and most were locals. Had a nice server, but she did spend most of her time talking and even sitting with diners she knew. Couldn't get her attention for a full 20 minutes, so I never did get to order that second glass of wine...we decided to pass on... More

We've eaten at the Bluebird several times this past summer. The food and service is usually quite good, although once during the Blueberry Festival it did leave something to be desired-nobody's perfect! The menu has a nice variety of choices, and we've been happy with the quality of the food. The "fresh" blueberry pie (fresh as opposed to baked) was... More

Waitresses are great. Most of the food was good. Onion soup not so much. We enjoyed it very much. You can even buy postcards and things Maine.

Had a beer can chicken yes the whole chicken and it was superb ! The homemade pies heavenly! The place could use a little sprucing up but we certainly cannot complain about the food! Good job!

We visited this restaurant mid-September only due to having to eat dinner as we were staying O/N in East Machias. I would suggest eating somewhere else as the quality of food here is quite poor, at least what we ate. I am somewhat of a "foodie" and like to only eat high quality food, therefore the dried out chicken breast... More

This is truly dreadful. We had sautéed shrimps (they were shrimps not prawns) and they were vile; the white wine was warm and horrible. We have travelled a great deal in America and usually in small town America; we have had wonderful food and mediocre food and we have had food in places that were trying hard but failing. This... Staying in Machias, and sad to learn that Helen's burned down, so tried the Bluebird, hoping for sweet Maine Lobster. Our super pleasant waitress, Loretta, got me a perfect lobster out of the tank, and served delicious drawn butter and checked on us often! My husband chose fried Haddock when they ran out of clams and said it was vety... More
