Magnificent seafood and steak selections

Came here at the beginning of February on a date. Service and food was exceptional. I had the filet mignon, I ordered it medium and it was cooked perfectly. It paired very well with the cabernet glace they selected. My date and I also enjoyed the charcuterie plate and muscles as the appetizer. The... read more

Despite the name, Fishbones is more than a run-of-the-mill Maine seafood restaurant. In fact, if you are looking for staples like fried clams or boiled lobster, you probably should head elsewhere. But their fish dishes are very good and they also have land fare, including steaks. The monkfish special was especially good the night we visited.

It is easy to take excellent food and service for granted when it arrives at your table so consistently. Fishbones is that type of restaurant. I have eaten here a couple dozen occasions over the years and I have never been disappointed. Fresh interesting specials, excellent service and a very good atmosphere make Fishbones a sure thing for a great... More

Food was ok, but had no flavor or seasoning. I opted with the Haddock Dinner. There were potato cakes (very dry, no flavor) with carrots and some other vegetable. Only had 5 wines to choose from for a glass of wine or buy a whole bottle. Only wanted one glass. Appetizer was a flat bread with fresh mozzarella with basil.... More

Went here for an early dinner with a friend. It was a short walk from the Hampton inn where we were staying. (You need to get to the crosswalk to cross the busy street...on same side as hotel down a block) We ordered off the price fix menu which is available until 5:30. The portions were very generous for what... More

A surprisingly marginal experience. We all thought it was a bit expensive given the quality of the food. It's tough to offer seafood in Maine that isn't excellent ... as natives we expect it. And, this was only okay. Scallops had no sear, etc. I don't think we'll be back. On the plus side, the atmosphere is quite nice and... More

One of the better restaurants in Lewiston. Please nice atmosphere in an old mill. Delicious food with a side range of selection and specials. Beautiful presentation. Service was very good, leisurely and appropriately attentive.

I love this resaurant, it is by far my favorite for this area. It is locally owned and operated and has a fantastic and unique menu. The quality of food is upscale (portion size too) but is definitely on the expensive side. They have a terrific wine list and some amazing specials (try the boar if it's on the menu,... More

We went on a Saturday evening, early. Make reservations if you plan on going here. It gets very busy. Great decor in a converted mill building. Food and service were fantastic. We had a large group and between all of us we had a varied selection of menu offerings. Not one complaint and I was impressed with the quality of... More
