This is the type of place you go to if you want huge portions of average food. I had the fried clams in batter. Way, way to much batter. They were like lead sinkers. I would not go back.

Totally a family style restaurant with huge portions of food! We couldn't eat it all. And tasty! They are known for their clams and completely lived up to the expectations!

The service was so good and friendly at this neighborhood diner. We had a simple meal but it was exactly what we wanted/needed after visiting the area and having a busy day. Lots of good choices on the menu and something for everyone.

We had to get seafood cause it's Maine and we were pleased. My husband and I shared fisherman platter and brought home leftovers. My teenage son enjoyed haddock bites and was filled and happy esp with brownie Sunday. We had a large group and were quickly accommodated in the back room. Everyone was pleased with their food 1 person grumbled... More

I visited here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. The waitress didn't have much of personality and she couldn't make any recommendations because she didn't eat seafood. Anyway the food took about ten minutes to come out and my lobster roll was okay. It certainly wasn't the best lobster roll I'd ever had before. The prices were quite expensive. Three... More

Went there with a family of 7. Portions small on my dad's baked haddock and his potato had a big rotten spot. My mothers meal was burnt clams- they were literally crunchy. My oldest son ordered a cheeseburger sub, the hamburger looked like charcoal briquets when she brought out the food, as a waitress I would have refused to serve... More

We went there to celebrate on Saturday May 10th. We were very disappointed with the portions. My boyfriend order the Mariner's Platter and was wondering where the seafood. There were 4 pieces of scallops, clams and one piece of fish. Plenty of fries. For $10.95 we were expect more food for that price. Lately this place has been hit and miss.... More

I have been to the chickadee alots of times, but today was the worst. I had fried clams and they were so greasy that IS could'nt eat them. We go out to eat every Friday with another couple and let me say they lost four customers.

We went here with 2 picky eaters. My Dad loved the place especially the hand cut fries and that he went home with left overs for lunch the next day. My husband is a vegetarian and prefers not to eat fried foods, he did not care for his meal he said it was good just not excellent. My Mom, the... More
