Great venue to eat lobster

Great views of the river while eating whatever size lobster you desire. The 3+ pound lobster we ate was the sweetest one we've ever tasted. Don't expect anything more than great lobster and a great view. We went for dinner and the bench tables were terribly sticky. They are stingy on the... read more

A favorite of locals (as in, from all over, like Boston and Malden MA). Take anything with you they don't sell, including wine or other alcohol, and sides for their seafood. Oysters and mussels are SO fresh and the lobsters come in a couple of different sizes. You can sit by the river and watch the sun set while enjoying... More

We had read some good reviews and brought out of state guests, although we had not been previously ourselves. It was a mistake! The lobster is pricey, and they seemed to only have larger ones available. The orders of popcorn and coconut shrimp were awful; the coconut shrimp tasted like it came from a frozen food box, and there were... More

A little pricey, but a great place to have a lobster roll or entire lobster along a beautiful creek. While we ate, a working fishing boat pulled up next door and we were able to watch them load a bunch of fish, which they salted in tubs. We were not sure why. The restaurant lets you bring your own beer,... More

We are locals, living here in Southern Maine. I had not visited Chauncey Creek Pier in quite some time, but remember it as being a very nice spot, right along the water. However, our food review parallels "Nateonnos" below: Very overpriced and low quality. My lobster roll was just under $20 and consisted of a small amount of chopped lobster... More

Reviewer Ellen P (below) has it right. The limited menu is so disappointing. None of the New England standards-- e.g., fried clams. Be sure to bring wine and sides. I have 5 generations in New England and I was disappointed.

I can see how this place would be special for people if they are the type that brings the tablecloths, flowers, and picnic baskets of side items, but I wasn't impressed. The lobster was $18 a lb with the smallest option being 1 1/4. We requested those but ended up with 1.45 pounders, which at $18 a pound, adds a... More

Go here if you want lobster. Only lobster. The menu is extremely limited. However, this place, for us, is quintessential Maine. If you are hungry, bring your own sides - that's the way things are done here.

Found it by chance while taking a ride up the 1A to see the beaches. Figured we would give it a shot since so many people were trying to get in. Lobster was outstanding, mussels were great. Strangely no refills at all and coleslaw wasn't good. But the seafood was all you need.

Chain eu creek just has the best lobsters. Always cooked right and served hot. They also have very good steamers with no sand. Service is great and u can bring additional items to eat as long as they do not sell it. Served on side of the creek and jut very pleasant
