When we opened Robert’s in June 2006, we had a certain idea: we could do a version of the big Maine seafood restaurant that was rooted in the tradition of these places, but also inspired by up-to-date food trends like local farm-to-table ingredients and more creative recipes. Owner Michael Landgarten had long been a fan, patron, and student of these large all-purpose (seafood-centric but not exclusively seafood) Maine restaurants.Traditionally, coastal Maine seafood restaurants focus on a large, seafood-centered menu featuring steamed lobster, baked and fried seafood, steaks, burgers, and have a bar, and usually some outside dining. We liked this notion for Robert’s, but wanted it to be a “now” experience – about the best of Maine food. In the Midcoast region, the farm-to-table movement had started long before there was that name for it. Back-to-the landers there started restaurants that sourced directly from local fisherman and farmers. We’re still searching for that ideal blend of traditional Maine, farm-to-table, and what’s best and real in new cuisine. Mostly though, we are guided by our purpose – to make guests happy!

Oysters. Modern & fun. Great service. Terrific beer/wine selections. I could go on & on. My fiancé introduced me to Roberts several years ago… and I kick myself for not knowing about it earlier. The BOGO oysters on Mondays always seem to be our fave, coupled w/ the Crab & Avacado sandwiches. The food is consistently fresh, well-prepared & delicious.... More

It's right across from the outlets but don't be fooled! Robert's has a nice view when you look out back. Weather permitting ask to be seated upstairs or outside. You will be greeted by crackers and a spread that changes daily. Get the oysters (Pemaquids are a must)! The lobster is full of fresh tail and claw meat and not... More

We try to be a relaxing reprieve in the center of the hustle & bustle of outlet shopping, especially with the tranquil view from our deck in the summer. Our Maine Lemonade is tasty, its hard to only have one. I hope we have the opportunity to serve you again the next time you visit Kittery. Thank you for taking... More

Robert's has a BoGo Monday. meaning two for one oysters. The oysters are4 incredibly fresh and shucked perfectly preserving the liquor. My wife and I had two fo each from the oyster menu and I can't say that I have ever enjoyed oysters anymore than this selection. Our waitress was attentive without interrupting our meal and answered every question. For... More

This was our second visit - first was great also. It's a nice dining room. Staff is always pleasant and food is just great. Standard prices - not great but not high. We came here on a Sunday night during winter for dinner. There aren't many places open and we were looking for good, fresh seafood. Two adults, three teens. The decor was clean, simple and soothing.
