When we opened Robert’s in June 2006, we had a certain idea: we could do a version of the big Maine seafood restaurant that was rooted in the tradition of these places, but also inspired by up-to-date food trends like local farm-to-table ingredients and more creative recipes. Owner Michael Landgarten had long been a fan, patron, and student of these large all-purpose (seafood-centric but not exclusively seafood) Maine restaurants.Traditionally, coastal Maine seafood restaurants focus on a large, seafood-centered menu featuring steamed lobster, baked and fried seafood, steaks, burgers, and have a bar, and usually some outside dining. We liked this notion for Robert’s, but wanted it to be a “now” experience – about the best of Maine food. In the Midcoast region, the farm-to-table movement had started long before there was that name for it. Back-to-the landers there started restaurants that sourced directly from local fisherman and farmers. We’re still searching for that ideal blend of traditional Maine, farm-to-table, and what’s best and real in new cuisine. Mostly though, we are guided by our purpose – to make guests happy!

Classy place !!

We stopped for lunch on our way to Portland. Easy to find, near the outlets. Nice views of a marshy water area. This is a beautiful restaurant. They brought out a little complementary starter of a cheese and crackers ( nice touch) . Service was good, food was good. Highly suggest !

If you want a nice place to eat in the middle of the Kittery, Maine shopping outlet stores, come here! It's in the style of a rustic barn - first floor with extensive raw and drink bar and seating; top floor all seating with outside option in good weather. As expected, the menu is geared to seafood but has ample... More

Roberts is definitely not your typical clam shack, we try to serve classic Maine dishes with a contemporary fee,l using locally sourced ingredients. The tranquil view from our deck makes you forget that you are in the center of the outlet strip. Thank you for taking the time to write your review. I hope we have the opportunity to serve... More

Given its immediate proximity to the Kittery outlets, we were expecting a tourist trap replete with over-fried, sub-par food, but we were hungry and decided to give Robert's a try. We were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food, service, and beer selection. The raw oysters - sourced from various locales - were fresh and delicious. The crab... More

This place is located at the end of the outlet mall strip in Kittery. It is a really great seafood restaurant even though it is a tourist area. The seafood towers are incredible and have lobster sliders- order more than you think because they are awesome. The fish and chips are also excellent. Good, fast service, casual dress. Worth a... When in Kittery, do go at Roberts, you will never regret it. The food is superb, mac and cheese with lobster, fish and chips, clam chowder .... Everything is delicious and not too expensive. On Sundays, wine bottles are half price ! Ask for a table on the terrasse of the second floor, you'll have a wonderful view.

Robert's offers excellent seafood as well as other options such as BBQ. There is something for everyone. The prices are a little higher than some other places, but it is a good value. The staff is friendly, and the service is prompt.

Love this place! We recently finished a big road trip out East and this was my favorite restaurant. We ate on the deck and the view is beautiful from there. They serve wonderful drinks made with fresh blueberries. The hot lobster roll was fabulous, the best I've ever had! The onion rings were amazing, also the best I've ever had.... More

Our clambake for two with 2 --1 Lb. lobsters, mussels, steamers, kielbasa, roasted potatoes and local corn on the cob is a must have when vacationing in Maine. So glad you were able to enjoy it all while relaxing on our deck. Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience. More
