Excellent as always the food and service are always top notch. Sometimes the parking is a little tough in downtown Kittery but we can live with that.

Well rounded menu, a little pricey. Definitely a date night kind of place. The mussels were absolutely amazing. Nice atmosphere and the staff were super friendly and accommodating to our four year old that slept through dinner.

We try to get to Anneke Jans each summer, and though it has always been consistently very good, it has stepped it up a bit, and we had some excellent meals. I started with a chicken consomme with chicken confit, etc., and it was, without a doubt, the best soup I have enjoyed ever. A roast duck dinner was excellent... More

I wasn't too sure of the menu when I arrived because the selection wasn't huge, but I could see why after I ordered. Every dish that came out from appetizer, entree to dessert was a work of art. It didn't just look to beautiful to eat, but the food was delicious! They must have few items on the menu to... More

My boyfriend took me to Anneke Jans on my birthday for the second time again this year -- lucky me! I would describe the atmosphere as casual elegance, intimate, romantic, very sophisticated, but not at all uptight. The menu is unique, and the food is presented beautifully. I enjoyed the PEI Mussels which were served (and there were a TON... More

Very good food as a new chef takes on an older, popular restaurant. It was quiet the night we were there but the food was lovely. The great mussels recipe is still on the menu as is the bread pudding. Both were divine. And the newer fare was tasty as well. Very good steak and a hardy braised beef. Delicious... More

Service was excellent, professional and timely without being rushed. Zack, the Bar mgr. does not make short pours (excellent cocktails) Food was delicious. Mussels are fantastic. Salads should be shared and bread pudding for desert is a must. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed the presentation, preparation and the flavors at each course. Great place for dinner. It is worth... I'm partial to Annekajans as we have been frequenting this fine establishment for several years. Every time I arrive, I receive a very warm greeting, am seated at a great table and feel completely at home. The food is always outstanding and the waitstaff while attentive, is never hovering. I've always enjoyed our dining experiences. Time and time again, I... More

The restaurant is very cute. An upscale, dress up for dinner, date night kind of place. We had reservations and were seated immediately at a great table by a window. Our server was seemingly inexperienced, upon greeting us she said, "I'd like to tell you some things about the menu.....we have no additions tonight, everything is on the menu." OK.....So... More

In a recent visit to Kittery, after having read several reviews, we booked our dinner reservation for 4 on line thru Open Table. The host was welcoming and seated us at a cozy corner table. It was a Saturday evening and though quite busy, the wait staff were very attentive. The evenings menu was interesting, with some surprising pairings, but... More
