We ate here twice during our last visit to Portsmouth, NH. What a gem! The service is exceptional. The food is sublime. We are pretty critical of local food, and we find this endlessly delicious and interesting.

I have had dinner here 3 times in the last year. Each time has been a wonderfull experience. Excellent service, interesting and tasty menu , and the fried olive appetizer is superb.

This is a really charming, comfortable, rewarding dining experience. A constantly evolving menu offers a wide array to keep all party members happy - from a dedicated carnivore to vegetarian. Reasonable wine list with some unusual selections, great vibe, incredible desserts, excellent service. Even with very quirky dietary restrictions, the kitchen accommodated without question. Always try to visit when we... More

I adore this place. I feel comfortable here and the service is always excellent. The changing menu thoughtfully features what's fresh and delicious. The drinks and wine list are solid, though not exactly an adventure. I like that it is a little off the beaten path, unless your path goes through Kittery. It's definitely worth the trip.

Our server was a cordial and animated gentleman by the name of Ken. He saw to our needs in a caring and non-hassled manner. The service was slow and relaxed, we LOVED that aspect!! We ordered two bottles of wine from the decent wine list and enjoyed the service along with the wine. The food began with oysters and fried... More

Tucked into downtown Kittery by the river, this is a lovely setting with excellent service. We had wild Maine mussels w/onions, bacon, and--the surprise and the coup--blue cheese; pasta with porcini mushrooms and aged sheep reggiano; steak with roasted and pureed roots; and flaky berry tarts w/ cream. The mussel sauce was out of this world, but the mussels were... More

We are regulars at Anneke Jans (we live next door) and we recently took my mother out for a nice dinner on her last night visiting us. We ate in the lounge area, and Kenny was great, as always, and introduced us to Emma, who is tending bar. They have a new pub menu that has great food at a... More

Excellent as always the food and service are always top notch. Sometimes the parking is a little tough in downtown Kittery but we can live with that.
