Description: Established in 1956 on busy Route One long before that stretch became bustling and busy with Kittery's outlet shops, Bob’s was the locals' golden fried standard. Now Bob's is a favorite spot for locals and travelers alike. We hear it from our guests: no trip to Maine is complete without a meal at Bob's Clam Hut.Bob's is committed to serving traditional Maine fried seafood with straightforward simplicity. Our clams are always fresh, which means daily deliveries--we're too small to store more than that anyway. We use "specials," which are clams hand-selected for consistent size and quality. We follow the original Bob's recipes, including the famous tartar sauce. Customer favorites include Bob's New England Clam Chowder, Lobster Stew, the traditional Bob's fried clams, and the Lillian fried clams. The volume of fryolator oil we go through amazes our suppliers--our oil cleanliness standards are second to none. Our staff uses the same cook-to-order system that Bob and his family developed way back when the Clam Hut first opened.Open for lunch and dinner year round from 11:00.

We had a great lobster roll that sure hits the spot after a shopping expedition. Very fast service despite the fact that it was busy. The lobster portion was generous and tasty. Wish we lived closer so we could go again!

This has been on our list since the segment on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives first aired...We planned a 10 day New England road trip from home in Lebanon, PA and had several Triple D destinations on our list...We made it here for lunch and weren't disappointed...If you watched the show about the clams they are just plain awesome...Luce had the... Yes, the clams are great. The lobster roll, in my opinion, does not match up to the one at The Beach Plum in North Hampton, but it's good if you are in Kittery and want to eat NOW. Prices are geared for tourists - high. I live locally, and I just wouldn't make a special trip here though we do... More

We have been coming to Bob's for more then 13 years and they never disappoint!! While in Maine for our 10th anniversay we stopped on the way back to Mass. Husband had the fried shrimp, I have the clam strips. Both were delicious. And as a nice mothers day special they were giving all moms coupons for free ice cream.... More

I have loved this place for years and it never disappoints. Every time I make it back home to NH, I have to include a trip to Bob's in Kittery. Nothing else really to say, other than if you want fried seafood in a comfy local environment, this is the place for you. Love it!

Stopped at Bob's recently for lunch and we both had the jumbo lobster rolls. While not the most inexpensive meal - the lobster rolls were amazing! Loaded with lobster and the mayo was just enough as it didn't mask the taste of the lobster. We liked the old style feel of the place and the fact that it has been... More

Three and a half stars. Recently, Bob's has been soliciting its FB friends for reviews on Trip Advisor, so I thought I'd add my thoughts. I've taken my family here many times since around 2000. My daughter isn't a seafood fan, so she gets the chicken fingers and fries and swears they are the best of any she has had.... More

And I do mean the best!!! reshape Maine lobster on a buttery grilled roll with just the right portion of mayo and not all bread. Would travel to Maine just for this lobster roll at Bob's again. Love the old time feel of a roadside hut amid all the new commercial buildings. Friendly and efficient service as well! Stop by,... More

4 1/2 out of 5! Great fried clams, delicious lobster stew, and a lobster roll to beat all others...all at very fair prices. The only thing lacking is atmosphere. Unfortunately for Bob's, the touristy neighborhood grew up all around them, and so they're surrounded by massive traffic from factory outlets and bad fast food chains. But that's OK. This is... More

Miss Mary and I know what makes a good lobster roll, at least according to our standards and as lobster rolls go. I mean, you have to have some criteria, right? At the very least, a lobster roll, or a "Maine lobster roll" should have the following: 1) The roll has to be a New England-style hot dog roll, a... More
