Established in 1956 on busy Route One long before that stretch became bustling and busy with Kittery's outlet shops, Bob’s was the locals' golden fried standard. Now Bob's is a favorite spot for locals and travelers alike. We hear it from our guests: no trip to Maine is complete without a meal at Bob's Clam Hut.Bob's is committed to serving traditional Maine fried seafood with straightforward simplicity. Our clams are always fresh, which means daily deliveries--we're too small to store more than that anyway. We use "specials," which are clams hand-selected for consistent size and quality. We follow the original Bob's recipes, including the famous tartar sauce. Customer favorites include Bob's New England Clam Chowder, Lobster Stew, the traditional Bob's fried clams, and the Lillian fried clams. The volume of fryolator oil we go through amazes our suppliers--our oil cleanliness standards are second to none. Our staff uses the same cook-to-order system that Bob and his family developed way back when the Clam Hut first opened.Open for lunch and dinner year round from 11:00.

Dog Friendly!

Don't let the crowds deter you. This place is worth the stop, and they are very well organized. We drove to Kittery to test our dog's traveling ability, and to pick up a travel crate for her at the Orvis outlet. I've been wanting to try fried clams - but needed a place that would allow our... read more

Bob' s has been very high on my list of priorities every year when I visit the York area. The past couple of years, I have substituted Robert's for Bob's when it comes to clams, as I know that I will get the same great clams only a little more upscale. If you are interested in getting the best clams... More

I have been going to Bob's for over 25 years. I no longer live in New England, so while visiting this month I made sure that I brought my wife and kids. The food was excellent. In fact, they liked it so much, we stopped the next day. My wife got the lobster roll and it was packed with lobster...on... More

Ate lunch here after it had been on the show "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" the night before. It was so packed that they had a couple of people directing traffic to park. We ordered the clams and they were the best I have ever had. The batter was just right, not too thick and not greasy. Even though it was... More

Perfectly cooked fried whole clams and very good lobster rolls. We stopped on our way to Portland and on our way to Portsmouth. Young staff is very good. They don't nickle and dime you for extra tartar or cocktail sauces. Parking can be a challenge as it is very popular. Our first trip we waited 10 minutes for our food.... More

Hands down, BEST FRIES CLAMS ( note: no clam strips, you need the bellies ) FRIED SCALLOPS ( note: you need SEA SCALLOPS not the teeny Bay scallops) The epitome of a New England Clam Hut, hence it's name. LANDMARK icon for decades, 60 +/- yrs...take out and sit on a picnic table, or sit inside A/C , ( seabreeze... More

Bob's is the place I'll always stop at and eat when I'm in Kittery. Been there a few times and I just love it the food is what I long for when I'm not there. It's busy and small but it's worth the visit every time. Sometimes it's not easy to find a table I've been eating my food in... More

Bob's is a Kittery Maine institution. The parking lot is crowded and the environment is "rustic" with outdoor dining at picnic tables. At the upper end of the casual food price point, it's worth it because it's tasty and generally quite fresh seafood.

Best lobster rolls and stew around! Fish and clams were good too. No frills but very nice counter-help. Fast and courteous!

the price is not and the seating although expanded may be tough to get at a busy time. you need to be prepared to spend 100 if you are going to have a family and they all get seafood. It is really good so save it as the treat you really want to have and the fun and laughs of... More
