Description: Established in 1956 on busy Route One long before that stretch became bustling and busy with Kittery's outlet shops, Bob’s was the locals' golden fried standard. Now Bob's is a favorite spot for locals and travelers alike. We hear it from our guests: no trip to Maine is complete without a meal at Bob's Clam Hut.Bob's is committed to serving traditional Maine fried seafood with straightforward simplicity. Our clams are always fresh, which means daily deliveries--we're too small to store more than that anyway. We use "specials," which are clams hand-selected for consistent size and quality. We follow the original Bob's recipes, including the famous tartar sauce. Customer favorites include Bob's New England Clam Chowder, Lobster Stew, the traditional Bob's fried clams, and the Lillian fried clams. The volume of fryolator oil we go through amazes our suppliers--our oil cleanliness standards are second to none. Our staff uses the same cook-to-order system that Bob and his family developed way back when the Clam Hut first opened.Open for lunch and dinner year round from 11:00.

If you are after fine dining, this is not the place for you. If you like good quality seafood cooked to perfection, don't miss this place. You have a choice as to eating inside in a very basic but clean dining room, it is a hut after all. Also you can opt to eat outside at a standard picnic table... More

On the recommendation of a friend, my wife and I stopped here. What a crowd! Regardless, the service was quick and the food was quite tasty. We got the clam basket and they were golden fried and begging to be eaten. When we're back in Kittery, guess where we'll stop?

I've visited Bob's Clam Hut many times over the years since I live in Kittery. The fried seafood is always fresh and delicious. My favorite is the fried oyster basket, but the lobster rolls are very good as well. Always bring visiting relatives and friends to Bob's. My grandchildren love it!

It's amazing how efficient Bob's Clam Hut is. Quite an operation where they serve hundreds for lunch, day in, day out. We went there on the strength of what we saw on the Diners Drive-ins and Dives episode that featured this landmark. The fried clams are truly the best. The lobster rolls are also top-notch. If it looks really crowded... More

Stopped here on our recent trip through Maine. What a spot! They were super busy the day we stopped in, which is always a good sign. We both had fried clam baskets. Probably some of the best friend clams I've ever had. And I liked that there was a good choice of condiments and sauces (I loved that they had... More

I walked around the corner from the Kittery trading post to eat at famous Bob's Clam Hut. It was very confusing to someone who has never been there. I walked in and sat down; only to find I had to go to the window out front to place my order I finely figured it out and got my food ordered.... More

We can to Bob's at the recommendation of friends. If you go there for the first time, stand back and analyze the menu choices. There are lots of options that can overwhelm a newbie like me. We went with a combo of fried calamari and clam strips. The calamari and clam strips were excellent but the deal came with a... More

Bob's is not a secret but, despite the crowds, it is awesome. The service is great, the staff is friendly and the food is exactly what you want! Quintessential Maine, you shouldn't miss Bob's if you are heading through Kittery. It is right off the highway. Get the lobster roll and fried clams! My husband and I went with our... More
