Established in 1956 on busy Route One long before that stretch became bustling and busy with Kittery's outlet shops, Bob’s was the locals' golden fried standard. Now Bob's is a favorite spot for locals and travelers alike. We hear it from our guests: no trip to Maine is complete without a meal at Bob's Clam Hut.Bob's is committed to serving traditional Maine fried seafood with straightforward simplicity. Our clams are always fresh, which means daily deliveries--we're too small to store more than that anyway. We use "specials," which are clams hand-selected for consistent size and quality. We follow the original Bob's recipes, including the famous tartar sauce. Customer favorites include Bob's New England Clam Chowder, Lobster Stew, the traditional Bob's fried clams, and the Lillian fried clams. The volume of fryolator oil we go through amazes our suppliers--our oil cleanliness standards are second to none. Our staff uses the same cook-to-order system that Bob and his family developed way back when the Clam Hut first opened.Open for lunch and dinner year round from 11:00.

THE BEST FRIED CLAMS!!!

This is our second trip to Bob's. My husband and I had the whole belly fried clams…simply delicious! The best we have ever had. No wonder this place is filled with locals, whether you try it Bob's way or Lillian's way…you are in for a yummy treat!

Everyone says it's the best fried clams in kittery, like ? What ? It was not good. All deep fried food. I assumed there seafood (shrimp ,clams& etc) were previously frozen, cause it doesn't have much of a flavor on it besides the oil, it's so greasy. Not fresh food for sure .

We are so sorry to hear that your experience at Bob's was not what you expected. Based on your description, it looks like we really dropped the ball on your order! Our clams are always fresh and to have them taste frozen to you means that we did not do our part in preparing them properly. I'd like to have... More

These might be them best fried clams around...scallops were also terrific. We had the clam chowder which was excellent...creamy,plenty of flavor, but not overly thick and pasty. Go hungry..portions are generous.

This place is pricey but the seafood is always fresh and fried to perfection. We always stop by on our way to or from Kittery shopping and every single time it's excellent. They have crayons and coloring paper for the kids and the dining room staff are helpful in helping you find a seat or getting utensils, etc. A bunch... More

Spent Christmas in the area and stopped at this wonderful eatery on our way home - it turned out to be one of the highlights of our entire stay. Clearly - and deservedly - very popular place which we hear has been delivering excellence for 60 years. The fried fish (we ate calamari) is simple but so, so much better... More

Recently my wife and I went on the "Great East Coast Seafood Tour" looking for the best seafood restaurants from Baltimore to Maine and boy did we find one in Kittery, Maine off Rt 1 called Bob's Clam Hut. Bob's is a seafood stand that's been there since 1956, and apparently it's something of an institution for good reason. We... More

We are fortunate that we live as close as we do to Bob's Clam Hut ~ when a craving for delicious, fried seafood hits, it can quickly be satisfied. We have been Bob's regulars for years and have NEVER been disappointed. The menu is vast, even for non-seafood lovers. Step up to the window to place your order and then... More

I only get clams, because it's a clam hut. They are tender, not too chewy. Love the breading. The portions are good. Made fresh and the wait time reflects that.
