Description: Established in 1956 on busy Route One long before that stretch became bustling and busy with Kittery's outlet shops, Bob’s was the locals' golden fried standard. Now Bob's is a favorite spot for locals and travelers alike. We hear it from our guests: no trip to Maine is complete without a meal at Bob's Clam Hut.Bob's is committed to serving traditional Maine fried seafood with straightforward simplicity. Our clams are always fresh, which means daily deliveries--we're too small to store more than that anyway. We use "specials," which are clams hand-selected for consistent size and quality. We follow the original Bob's recipes, including the famous tartar sauce. Customer favorites include Bob's New England Clam Chowder, Lobster Stew, the traditional Bob's fried clams, and the Lillian fried clams. The volume of fryolator oil we go through amazes our suppliers--our oil cleanliness standards are second to none. Our staff uses the same cook-to-order system that Bob and his family developed way back when the Clam Hut first opened.Open for lunch and dinner year round from 11:00.

As always very busy, as always very fresh, very tasty, very hot , not greasy delicious local gem. Sit outside on a nice summer day at a large picnic table and meet some new friends. Service is fast professional, and local friendly. If the weather is not perfect go into the dinning room and have your scrumptious seafood! I started... More

By far the best in the area! We had clam strips, a cheese burger, clam cakes and fries. Was very happy with everything. The clams were so light, the breading was light, not greasy, and was very delicious. The burger was so fresh tasting! If you are going to the outlets, this is a "must do" stopping place!

Kattie helped us at the side window. She recommended the chowder and when she found out we were there from Texas, she through in the chowder on the house. Fried Clam Rolls and Chowder... we were in earth bound heaven.

Classic Route One seafood place. Seafood is very well prepared. Good portions. Window service is friendly and efficient. Especially nice after the summer crowds subside.

Took a trip from Boston to Boothbay Harbor last week and decided to stop at Bob's Clam Hut in Kittery for lunch. Good choice! I had the Fishwich and my husband had the fried clams ( not strips, but with the bellies! ). We were both happy with our choices. Friendly service and lots of outdoor tables, too. A bonus... More

In Maine over the weekend, I stopped by Bob’s Clam Hut in Kittery for a cup of clam chowder at $5.95. I hadn’t been there in over two years. It was a 5-minute wait for my order. The clam chowder was steaming hot. The broth was rich and buttery. Great. The ingredients were mostly potato chunks with some onion, a... More

My father always told me "pay attention to detail". When I read reviews on how fantastic Bob's tartar sauce was, I realized others must have been given that same advice! When a free condiment is so positively commented upon, it is serious business! I so agree that the tartar sauce simply adds more greatness to the already great food. I... More

It's been here for years so don't stat by thinking that Guy put it on the map. The breading is the absolute best around. No greasy fried food, almost liked it is baked. Clam strips are my personal fav with the onion rings. Portion sizes are good so ok to share. It's reputation for awesome was safe with this trip.

Had the clams 2 ways-I could not distinguish between the 2 coatings but they were both outstanding! The lobster stew was ok, but it was lukewarm which was very disappointing. One surprisingly great condiment were the pickle slices! They were fresh & crisp & a great foil to the fried clams! And the tartar sauce is good enough to dunk... More
