Description: Established in 1956 on busy Route One long before that stretch became bustling and busy with Kittery's outlet shops, Bob’s was the locals' golden fried standard. Now Bob's is a favorite spot for locals and travelers alike. We hear it from our guests: no trip to Maine is complete without a meal at Bob's Clam Hut.Bob's is committed to serving traditional Maine fried seafood with straightforward simplicity. Our clams are always fresh, which means daily deliveries--we're too small to store more than that anyway. We use "specials," which are clams hand-selected for consistent size and quality. We follow the original Bob's recipes, including the famous tartar sauce. Customer favorites include Bob's New England Clam Chowder, Lobster Stew, the traditional Bob's fried clams, and the Lillian fried clams. The volume of fryolator oil we go through amazes our suppliers--our oil cleanliness standards are second to none. Our staff uses the same cook-to-order system that Bob and his family developed way back when the Clam Hut first opened.Open for lunch and dinner year round from 11:00.

Was in Kittery to do some shopping. We did not want to spend a lot of time just getting lunch in a full restaurant. We saw quite a few cars in the side lot, and decided it was the place to go. We were right!! Large portions, crispy not great fried food fare. Friendly staff, nice clean seating areas. Recommend... More

This place is a throwback - and worth going out of your way for! The seafood is fresh, and abundant, with lots of choices (including some for the odd fish adverse friend!). The clams are obviously the classic, but the lobster roll is amazing - fresh & overflowing. Everything is terrific - and fried! You know it's quality when it's... More

I've been coming to Bob's for years. Part of the appeal is the consistency with basic New England clam shack food, which in my household is an iced tea and lobster roll with onion rings. We have veered from this tried the hot dogs, grilled cheese, fried scallops, and clams but the lobster roll always wins out.

We stopped here for lunch as we headed to Maine for a winter weekend getaway. Two adults and three teens. In total we had 2 whole clam baskets "Bob Style" and 2 whole clam baskets "Lillian Style" and one Fried Calamari basket. You order at the window and go to the back for a table to sit. (In the summer... More

I've been visiting Bob's for years traveling back and forth to the White Mountains. It is worth a several mile diversion to get your fill of seafood. Everything is always fresh and never greasy. Light batter and excellent flavor. Do yourself a favor if you have a hankering for some seafood and make a stop at Bob's, you'll be glad... More

Bob's Clam Hut was introduced to me by a local as a quick and hearty place for regional seafood. Once inside, it's atmosphere was quaint and what I would consider to be a typical seaside shanty. You order at the counter and wait for your number to be called. They offer a variety of typical seafood dishes such a fried... More

This place was packed and felt like sardines in random lines. The clams were fresh though. But my smallish lobster roll had a hair in it and the place was too crazy to go back wait in line and tell someone and wait on another. Outdoor seating is covered by tents so that was nice too.

On the way to visit family in Maine the day after Christmas we stopped at Bob's Clam Hut. Like usual it was crowded, but the wait wasn't too long. My husband and I ordered the jumbo lobster rolls and just for the heck of it a pint of scallops. Two days later my husband is still talking about the scallops... More

I am very surprised how much this place has gone downhill. Over the years and I do mean years...my mother and grandmother would always bring us to this place and it was divine the seafood they had here. Over the years quality has been slipping and in my most recent visit this place has really hit rock bottom. Just awful... More

Plenty of choice for a clam hut; clams(many ways), lobster, what else do you need in a clam hut. Food is always great. A small sit in area for winter, but outdoor area is always packed in the summer. Great value, big portions. Nothing fancy, just good food
