Description: Established in 1956 on busy Route One long before that stretch became bustling and busy with Kittery's outlet shops, Bob’s was the locals' golden fried standard. Now Bob's is a favorite spot for locals and travelers alike. We hear it from our guests: no trip to Maine is complete without a meal at Bob's Clam Hut.Bob's is committed to serving traditional Maine fried seafood with straightforward simplicity. Our clams are always fresh, which means daily deliveries--we're too small to store more than that anyway. We use "specials," which are clams hand-selected for consistent size and quality. We follow the original Bob's recipes, including the famous tartar sauce. Customer favorites include Bob's New England Clam Chowder, Lobster Stew, the traditional Bob's fried clams, and the Lillian fried clams. The volume of fryolator oil we go through amazes our suppliers--our oil cleanliness standards are second to none. Our staff uses the same cook-to-order system that Bob and his family developed way back when the Clam Hut first opened.Open for lunch and dinner year round from 11:00.

It used to be better. Food is good service not so good. Containers not marked where to put stuff. They don't take people in order. Years ago it was good

My mom and I travel to Kittery once a year to shop in the outlets. For as long as we've been making this trip, I can't believe we'd never stopped at Bob's before. Thanks to TA, we tried it yesterday and LOVED it. We ate lunch there, and the parking lot was mobbed. In fact, they had parking attendants helping... More

Ate here at the end of a long day. Was ready for a lobster roll. Wasn't sure at first, just thinking it was a road side stand. This place has lots of seating out back, and good amount of indoor seating. Definitely bigger than it looks just driving by. Speaking of big, get their big lobster roll. I am always... More

Stopped at Bob's on 7/17 after a long winter withdrawal from their great food. Been stopping at Bob's for over twenty years and their great quality of service and food has remained the same, great!

We stopped here for lunch on our trip into Maine. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. Then we got our food and it was fabulous. I had the haddock sandwich and it was so big and cooked perfect. Very impressed and pleased. My daughters cheese burger( adult menu) was huge too and she raved about it. This will be... More

First the good news: Bob's Clam Hut serves great local seafood specialties. I had the eponymous whole fried clams, which were outstanding. The tartar and cocktail sauces are very tasty: especially the cocktail sauce is nice and piquant. It has a "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" style charming ambience. The place is spotlessly clean and the servers are very accommodating. Now... More

24 bucks for a paper basket of deep fried battered little clams should have been no more than 15 bucks tops. If you can ignore the price, the clams were nothing special, they made a big deal out of Bob's on Diners, Dives, and Drive Ins, very disappointed. Comes with fries and slaw big deal. My wife had crab cakes... More

A little pricey but the food is extremely fresh and good. A must stop as you enter Maine. Right next to the trading Post -- you can walk to Bob's from the Trading Post parking lot. Fried clams are a winner! Do not let the crowd scare you away -- service is very fast.

I see positive and negative reviews here about Bob's, but I thought my whole fried clams were the best on the planet. I come from New Orleans where frying oysters is an art. I think the clam roll was as good as any oyster loaf that I have eaten. The clams were huge, hot and crispy. I usually use ketchup,... More

Want one of the best lobster rolls anywhere? Stop at Bob's and have a jumbo lobster roll. We prefer ours with hot lobster and butter but they also serve with a more traditional dressing. Fried clams are probably their specialty and for a native New Englander, nothing is better than fried whole-belly clams. This place is a treat, reminiscent of... More
