Went here for a business lunch, as our local client recommended it as one of George H.W. Bush's favorites. Lobster rolls, chowder, and the broiled stuffed lobster was all absolutely fantastic. Friendly cozy decor with excellent food, this one is definately worth a visit.

Despite the abrasive hostess there is a warm staff that serves up fresh and decent seafood. Nothing fancy, just straight forward seafood shack fare, steamers, lobster and well priced wines by the glass. I've had better chowder elsewhere as Mabel's is a bit paltry with the clam pieces and potatoes, but otherwise no complaints. Tip - they do take reservations... More

We had lunch here on the recommendation of the locals. It's a small place, we were able to sit outside on the porch to eat. The lobster roll is expensive ($20) but the best I've had in Maine. The cole slaw and fries were really good too. Sine lunch was outstanding, I decided to try the blueberry pie. It was... More

It was a little bit of a wait to be seated, but so worth it! The food and the service was excellent. The clam chowder was delicious and I don't think I've ever had any better - and I'm a New England girl! There are two kinds of mussels, which are served with crusty French bread, which is perfect for... More

Some good food and atmosphere in a small ME town. Reminds me of a restaurant in Mayberry(for those old enough to remember Andy Griffith!) Our server, Tricia. was very sweet and attentive. Did not have dessert(which I heard are excellent) because we were so full! We had haddock. mussels and shrimp and loved them all. If you don't make a... More

My wife loves seafood, so this was our 2nd time at Mabel's, evidently a favorite of the Bushes too. Lobster, swordfish, haddock, shrimp...you want it they have it. We had lobster rolls overflowing with meat and just the right amount of mayo. Our food and service were good. Outdoor seating is surprisingly limited on the narrow front porch. Too bad... More

The atmosphere was down to earth and family friendly. The lobster roll was amazing. The lobster meat was so abundant that it kept falling out of the roll. Minimal mayo or other additions so the flavor of the lobster was the main taste.

Enjoyed our early dinner of lobster and local brew beer. Gets busy later in the evening, so I suggest you make reservations.

This is a quaint little place just off Ocean Ave. almost to the Bush property. Food was fantastic, all home cooked Lobster and seafood, great presentation and wonderful taste. You get a real sense of community and the staff will treat you like family. Mabels has a lot of cool history and the deco gives you a lot to look... More

My wife and I were visiting for her cousins wedding and were told by her cousin and other local family to try Mabels. We made a reservation and went. My wife ordered a lobster roll and I got the shore dinner. My wife wanted onion rings instead of fried but they don't allow substitutions. We got an order of onion... More
