I live in Maine. I eat at Lobster shacks that are perched on the side of the ocean where boats unload their catches of lobsters. Those are special places in Maine. I thought this might be one of those, and since we are moving to Kennebunkport this fall and are trying out all the local places - we gave Bartley's... More

HORRIBLE wait staff, owner is pushy and seems to like to lead her staff in freedom to talk badly about other competing businesses. (clam shack next door) Nice to be able to sit at a table but so NOT worth it. Blueberry pie supposed to be great...NOT. Sorry Bartleys, we'd rather stand.

Hello lucielleball: I'm often skeptical of reviews which consist of direct, personal attacks on my mother, Mrs. Bartley, an 89 year old woman who still works every day of her life as well as my hardworking staff. In addition, this review was short on content TripAdvisor travelers would find useful to their own travel needs and restaurant selection. If you... More

Too often, when you stop for a lobster roll in a touristy area of Maine, you walk away feeling like it was "just all-right" and usually too expensive. This was not my experience when we stopped at Bartley's for lunch, today. We ordered a lobster roll and cup of clam chowder combination. The chowder was thick, rich and very flavorful-one... More

This is the place to go in Kennebunkport if you decide to leave the beach a bit earlier around 11:00 to avoid any crazy lunch lineups. The lobster roll is excellent and generously stuffed with fresh lobster, the fries are hand cut (not frozen), and the blubbery pie is honestly the best in town topped off with two scoops of... More

We arrived to Bartley's a little later than normal dinner time (at least it felt like it) with our dog in tow. We were exhausted from house hunting all day and frankly we normally wouldn't try to find a restaurant with our dog. We were too hungry to face the ride home without a little dinner so were thrilled to... More

We arrived before they opened for lunch. They gladly sat us outside under the umbrella. People watching and enjoying a bottle of wine in beautiful Kennebunkport. Who could ask for more! Wine prices were reasonable. We loved loved loved the steamers and the lobster salads. Generous servings. Great service by Julie. There are many dining choices in town but Bartley's... More

Excellent lobster roll & best blueberry pie! GO HERE! Don't be fooled by the shack next door boasting "Voted Best Lobster Roll in the Country", and stand in line for 30min, just to he disappointed. They serve them on hamburg rolls! That's NOT authentic at all! Bartley's is the real deal, service was great, outside seating was immediate, and the... More

The sign outdoors boast "voted best lobster rolls by locals". I have to wonder what the crowing is about. Honestly. It was recommended by a local so we stopped in expecting something special. The place itself is forlorn looking. Unkept. In need of some tidying, cleaning and straightening. It looked like the beaten stepchild Our waiter was very friendly but... More

Don't bother going anywhere else for lobster bisque or lobster rolls or haddock. And wash it all down with the delicious homemade blueberry pie. This place is fantastic, locally owned and operated by the charming and effusive Mrs. Bartley. We were cared for by lovely Teresa who said "I promise you're going to love everything" and she was absolutely right.... More
