two dining areas

We ate in the bistro area, the more casual of the two, where you can order a la carte. I had the lobster salad, which I'd give a mixed review to. It was a good bit of lobster, just big hunks of it, and a mound of salad greens with some cucumber and tomato slices below it. Kind of difficult... read more

Service was impeccable, atmosphere dark and romantic, food an experience. The fois gras appetizer was a great start. We had the spring lamb and a filet, with soup and palette cleansing sorbet in between. Veggies accompanied were fresh and destinct. The deserts were soo varied and original. Presentation as expected, beautiful.

We head to Kennebunk for my birthday every year for a birthday dinner, and the restaurant never fails to delight, with both food and service. This is not a food experience that should be rushed, so put aside a nice amount of time to enjoy and relax and really be taken care of. Besides food you request, other taste treats... More

I would say extremely expensive, but then you know that when you go. And it is that good. Very good. Service is paramount to their fine dining. Excellent wine cellar, if not very expensive, and a very fine bar with some very fine scotches. Go. It's an extraordinary treat.

I visited the White Barn Inn Restaurant as a special treat for my birthday. A girlfriend and I had wanted to try this spot for a while and we finally decided now was the time! The valet was wonderful, we arrived on a snowy night and got right inside while the young man parked the car. We were greeted immediately... More

We came out of hibernation for Maine Restaurant Week and enjoyed a charming date night with a three course dinner, adding some oysters and cocktails at the "Bistro". This is the White Barn's lounge. For $45 pp, we were treated to a three course meal. My husband chose the braised oxtail appetizer and I had the mushroom soup. Both were... More

There is a good reason this place has a fantastic reputation. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent (love the "waiter ballet"; each waiter has one dish, they come out in a smooth line, position themselves behind the diners and in unison, place the plates on the table). We had the wine pairing and they did not skimp... More

In a restaurant that uniquely has a 5-diamond AAA Award AND a 5 star Forbes rating, you would expect exceptional food and service. Let me tell you, folks - you will not be disappointed with the White Barn Inn restaurant. A recent reviewer was "underwhelmed" with her experience and I am at a loss to understand how she could have... More

My husband and I dined here the other night. First, the restaurant was very accommodating when we had to reschedule our reservation due to another blizzard in Boston. Our server, Angela, was incredible. Very friendly, very knowledgeable about the food and the wine. She overheard me tell my husband that we should absolutely order the soufflé because though I love... More

This is my 2nd to 3rd time at the White Barn Inn. My family went for Valentine's Day 2015. First, I should note that I took two teenagers and my 11 year old. Typically I wouldn't advise this at such a nice restaurant, but the kids are well behaved and the restaurant was flexible, but I know they'd probably prefer... More
