Funky surprise on Main Street Kennebunk

With view to Main Street and the unique ice skating rink, 50 Local was a funky surprise. We arrived early on a Monday and it was not busy, but we can imagine it would be hopping during the warmer season. The Calamari appetizer was generous and excellent, large enough to share, although the dish... read more

We had the pleasure of enjoying a dinner here and it couldn't have been better! Our server was outstanding, the atmosphere lovely, drinks were creative and delicious and the food, from appetizers to our main courses, was none shy of amazing!

Not everyone serves Funky Bow, if you like microbrew worth every sip. Haddock was excellent, better than across the street. Fish and chips was too fried. Small menu as you would expect. Table lighting was poor but only a problem for reading the menu and the bill.

50 Local prides itself on fresh locally sourced food and you can taste the difference. I'm always drawn towards their fantastic chicken dish, but their seafood is not to be missed. There are few dining options in upper village, but 50 Local is worth a visit.

My parents and I dined at 50 Local recently and will definitely be back! We started with the local oysters on the halfshell. That particular night, they offered 3 different varieties and they were all divine. We also shared the crab cakes which were some of the best I've ever had. For my entree, I had the fish and chips.... More

I was beyond excited when my husband surprised me with reservations for our anniversary!! This is my favorite restaurant in not just Kennebunk but southern Maine. It is always a surprise to see what is on the menu because it changes every time I have eaten here. I had just finished a cleanse so naturally I couldn't wait to eat... More

the atmosphere was WAY too dark--They had to bring another candle so my mother could barely read the menu. It took quite a while to get our food; service wasn't great. The fish and chips were good and the crab cakes tasted good. The soup wasn't very good and I thought the desserts were okay but not good. The beignets... More

I really wanted to like this place. I started off with their special margarita with grapefruit juice and a peppered rim. It just tasted like a normal margarita. The restaurant is so dark you can't see the food. I think they might do this for a reason. I started off with the calamari. It was very good. There were chiles... More

My husband and I frequently dine at 50 Local year round. Since we own a condo in Kennebunk, it's so convenient, warm, and welcoming to gather at "Local". I 'm always happy with the statler chicken if catch of the day doesn't catch my eye. I recently ordered Chef's squash soup, which was to die for! And, oh yes, the... More

We discovered this place three years ago and loved it. Returned last night and fell out of love. As with mayt good places that get busy, the prices are up and the portions are down. The food is great, but the value is poor. My wife and I each had crab cakes which were round(??)) and smaller than a golf... More
