Very inventive menu

The Inn itself is centuries old. The dining room is quite pleasant and on the Main Street, thus easy to find. We went for an early dinner, and were very nicely taken care of by Meg, an unpretentious but very seasoned server. Drinks were reasonable. I tried a rum drink with coconut... read more

For a special occasion there is no better place. This is a fine dinning experience. This is a place to sit, enjoy and appreciate the food.

I was told by the nice ladies at the visitors center that this place was very good. I walked in for a late lunch only 1 or 2 tables had clients. I asked to sit on the patio. The hostess was snippy, sat me on the patio. I asked for water she barked at me that the waiter would bring... More

We arived not really knowing what to expect. We had made the reservation based on reviews I had read. The setting is simple and quaint and does not give a clue as to the fabulous dishes offered. There were 4 of us, 2 had filets ,1 had the chicken special and my husband had the award-winning lobster pot pie. My... More

Food was delicious. Very creative without being pretentious. Prices were reasonable for the superb quality. Only complaint which we observed - a fellow diner ordered a mohito which was served without any mint. It was just simple syrup. She sent it back and ordered what we had - a cocktail made with sage which was fantastic.

We were taken here by friends who live in the area. This is one of their regular haunts and now we know why! The menu was outstanding and covered all tastes and desires, but obviously seafood was highlighted. Quality and pricing was very good as was service. There is some on street car parking spaces directly outside the restaurant.

Went for the first time for a quiet birthday dinner. Food was very good and creative approach. Our server, Charlie , was excellent! We did not have the signature dish, lobster pie, but we will definitely go back to try that and more!! Quiet atmosphere with tables very well spaced.

We have enjoyed Academe at The Kennebunk Inn for ten years having hosted the Rehearsal Dinner for our son's wedding there. Brian and Shanna are not only accomplished chefs but also wonderful, down to earth people. On top of that their meals are excellent, well presented, and of high quality. Additionally, the staff is personable, and it's obvious they enjoy... More

Lunch on a Tuesday in the summer was a quiet time to enjoy this very lovely looking restaurant. With AC at full blast, it was cool inside - a nice contrast to the outside temp. We were just 3, and it was just lunch - so a bill of over $40 was a triffle high. That said, my husband did... More

My husband and I ate here Saturday night. We were there just before 6 and there were not that many people. I think Academe might get overlooked with so much activity going in Kennebunkport, but a dinner here is worth the 10 min. drive from the 'Port. And you will have a much quieter and more pleasant experience. Our menu... More
