Overall quite good. I started with the gazpacho which was very refreshing but a bit mild. It had summer squash and zucchini in it creating a flavor slightly less tomatoey. The jerk pork osso bucco was killer (though again milder than I would like.) Served with pork belly on banana polenta (which itself could be on the desert menu) with... More

On vacation my mom and I where driving through Kennebunks, ME saw a sign for the Lobster Pie as seen on the food network. We had to try it! First we sat on the patio outside, while it wasn't fancy it was really nice for us because we were not dressed up enough to sit in the main dinning room.... More

Very good food, and, what is more, they let you bring your dog if you choose to eat on the patio. Maybe that doesn't fully capture the entire ambience of what looks like a very nice place, but out waiter was nice, the food was elegantly presented andf it was an overall successful dining experience. I would have given 5... More

TIP: Best fish and chips ever. I have vacationed in Kennebunk before, but I never made it to The Kennbunk Inn for a meal. I have even stayed at the inn. On this trip, I made up for it, going twice! You can check out their menu outside. Brian and Shanna O’Hea are the husband and wife chef team. They... More

A family reunion in Kennebunk. All ten of us arrived in Kennebunk late Saturday afternoon. We had placed a reservation for ten at 7:00 PM. When we arrived, we were escorted to our separate dining room. The room was beautiful. Since we had not been together for a long time, we were so happy to be in a room where... More

Sage Against the Machine cocktail, house salad, lobster pie, shrimp cocktail, salmon entree, and s'more dessert were all outstanding. Service was also very good. We'll be back.

From the outside, you'd expect this quaint little New England inn to be an expensive lunch. My trip today had my best friend and I looking like we had just hopped off of a motorcycle ride, and I was expecting to feel a little uncomfortable in my surroundings. No so! The dining area is small, quiet, and cute. We were... More

Kennebunk Village is fortunate to have two of the areas greatest restaurants within 100 ' of each other.Academe is one of them and their lobster pie is without an equal, probably anywhere. The building itself and setting are superb-quintessential New England charm. Our waiter was outstanding- efficient and friendly but not fawning or overly familiar. We will definitely be returning soon!

We ordered drinks and looked over an expansive menu,I asked for help and received some advice from a very knowledgable waiter, which turned out to be some of the best advice ever,my daughter in law asked... Our first trip to Academe and we would go back if only for the Lobster Pot Pie. It was sensational! The Inn and restaurant are quaint and on the plain side... very Mainelike. Service was fine. The Pot Pie was the best of our meals .
