Have been to Estes twice...July and August of this year. Both times sat outside right on the water side. A truly beautiful view. First time , with former Mainers, now living in Arizona, food was very good...triple lobsters, fried haddock sandwich, fried haddock dinner...chowders all around. All good. Iced tea refills and a great server. Second visit in August to... More

My friend and I were vacationing in Main and took a senic drive one afternoon. We stopped at Estes to get some lobster mac and cheese. Unfortunately they were out because they were closing for the season. We had to settle for the lobster roll which by the way was delicious. You were given plastic silverware but the service was... We love South Harpswell and Potts Point and go there often but had only tried Estes once before. We decided to go for lunch and wished we hadn't. I am sure the food is good, although more expensive than some other seafood restaurants. My main gripe is with asking for tap water to drink and to take my medication, but... More

2 lobsters for $20 special the day we went. The week before it was 3 for $20. Delicious! We ordered the onion rings as an appetizer and they were excellent. Desert was a strawberry shortcake that could feed at least 3 if not 4 people and was delicious and well worth the money.

Extremely overpriced, served on paper plates (oh my!), slooooow service, and did I mention overpriced. My elderly mother wanted to go here so we stayed, but when I saw the prices on the menu in the lobby I knew we were in a "tourist trap." Shame on you for charging these prices, for not so great food; could have, and... More

I just got back from Estes and wasn't pleased. Let me first say,the first time I ate there was good but this time..not so much! I had my mouth watered for a crab roll and onion rings. The crab roll was on the menu not even a month ago. They sat us outside which I have to say was beautiful!... More

I am just coming back from the worst meal I have experienced in a long time. We went to Estes for a family event. Unfortunately everyone's meal, except one, was barely edible. The fried seafood tasted frozen with rubbery batter. The chicken tenders and fried shrimp looked and tasted like they came from the frozen section of Sam's Club. Unfortunately,... More

Great casual restaurant with fresh seafood. The boiled lobsters are served in a baking pan. Everything else (sides) are extra. Unless you ask for tap water you will be paying for a bottle of water. Food was good and the service was great! Views can't be beat - especially at sunset!

My kids and I had such a great time at Estes last summer, that we decided to drive again from Cleveland, Ohio to experience Estes again. When we went last Saturday night, we had eaten very little during the day so we could pig out. The lobster, haddock soup & mac n cheese were better than we remembered. When we... More
