Low key, good food

Great place to take friends for an affordable seafood feast without all the hubbub. We sometimes go just to sit at the bar and enjoy the sunset. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Don't be put off by the paper plates, Harpswell has water restrictions, the food is just as good.

Took friends in summer of 2014 and had a great meal. Friends who live locally and I decided it would be a great place to bring my BF this year during his first trip to Maine. We raved about the food and the view. At least the view was still good. The food is served on paper plates because the... More

Stopped in for lunch today with the family. Great view, and great lobster rolls. Both the fish and clam chowder were very good and the lobster rolls were some of the best we've had. All lobster, with just enough mayo. The hand cut onion rings are a must as well. Service was great. Just an fyi, it's a paper plate/plastic... More

Although the three lobsters for twenty bucks is gone forever (good things come to an end), they do offer twins for 20. The lobsters came out hot and sweet and delicious as always. We've been here many times and come back for more. Prices for other dishes can be a bit high, the lobster deal can't be beat. Good service... More

As we sat outside watching the sun set, the very friendly staff cooked our lobsters. For 3 people, we had two smaller and one big lobster, and one on a bed of clams. Heavenly, and I didn't even finish all my butter! Service was great, prices very good. I'd definitely return!

My husband and I have a running experiment every summer: to find the best lobster roll. Since we were in Maine we figured the competition would be stiff. It wasn't, Estes by far was the best. We accidentally discovered it after driving to what seemed like the end of the world. The lobster roll was simple: loaded with fresh lobster... More

Visiting family in Maine, and we all enjoy good seafood and if do also you've got to check this place out if your in the area. Fresh seafood, good prices and friendly staff. We had a view of the water and talked and ate and never once felt rushed the leave. Very good day here.

Lobster specials are good, but can be pricey. Eat indoors on picnic tables, but views are beautiful. Not fine dining, but the food is fine.

Visited Estes in Harpswell last evening for the twin lobster special. We had friends visiting from California and wanted a restaurant with views and plenty of lobster. Worth the trip out Harpswell Neck. 3 out of 4 of us ordered the lobster special and were very satisfied.

Having grown up on a beautiful harpswell coast line, I appreciate an Estes sunset as much as the next guy. What I don't appreciate is being served a "specialty" cocktail in a 4oz plastic cup for $10 a pop. I didn't realize at the time what the cost of these drinks were so I had ordered another since it was... More
