A great rusticated Maine restaurant where you can get a reasonably priced lobsta dinner and the best homemade pie anywhere. The personnel are always great and Wimpy is a neat guy. I love it there. No trip to Bar Harbor is complete without a stop at Ruth & Wimpy's (and I haven't got a dime in this).

This is a road side local fry joint. Enjoy

If you are looking for some white table cloth seafood experience. This ain't it. This is great for what we were looking for. The locals fish fry joint to enjoy some local fair and local people. The beer is cold and fresh. The seafood is fresh and (in our case) fried up just right. Our visit was... read more

We loved the great value of the food and the portion size. The prices were fair, considering it's seafood and prices can be high. We will definitely be back!

We stopped here for a mid-afternoon snack and were very pleasantly surprised! The wait staff was extraordinarily friendly and attentive. We ordered some fries and deviled eggs for starters, but the real treat came when we ordered corn chowder and lobster chowder. They were both delicious! Just be forewarned - their cup size is in a regular bowl, so the... More

A fun local restaurant with great seafood, lots of options and choices on the menu. The waitresses were really and knowledgable. There are lots of non-seafood too, and a big dessert list. There's a huge red lobster out front with a

I am a regular patron of Ruth and Wimpy's during my summer visits to Maine. The seafood is a favorite of mine. The food is well prepared and the portion size usually provides leftovers. Most nights lobster dinners are on the specials list.. The restraunt has a down home vibe with simple furnishing. The wait staff is friendly and knowlega... More

I try never to miss a trip to Ruth and Wimpy's, where all the local folks seem to congregate. As a challenged traveler, you won't have too much trouble getting in. If you have a wheelchair you can sit. If not, beware the orange booths. There are tables and chairs. I was shocked to see the layout had changed this... More

We stayed with a friend in Hancock. Her husband and she loved this restaurant. We took her here for her b-day dinner. Great food, prices weren't too bad for the quality. The waitress was very nice.

Great lobster rolls, stews and salads in Hancock, Maine. Cosy, comfortable and car oriented seafood cafe. Funky and friendly and unpretentious.

Unbeknownst to us we got there at 7:55, and they closed at 8pm, yet they still seated us with open arms. Most of their customers left by 8pm, and although we had the restaurant to ourselves, we never felt rushed. We tried the steamed clams, Seafood Intrigue, and Clam Chowder. All was very good, except for the green beans. We... More
