Nothing fancy but good lobster!

I ordered two 1 1/4 pound lobsters with corn for $29. I shared with my sister and it was plenty. The lobsters were great. They brought rolls which looked good but we didn't touch them. My brother in law had the seafood chowder which was good but not outstanding. He also had fried clams and shrimp... read more

We were recommended this place from the ranger out Lemoine State Park. I have to say it was an expansive disappointment... My wife had the Lazy Lobster, and I had the stuffed Lobster. The Service: Really bad. We sat for a long time before someone served us. We sat outside and the person serving people was just walking by ignoring... More

Had lunch here with friends. Atmosphere is festive with all the vintage items on the walls. Portions are huge. Shared an order of fried clams and it was great. Lobster roll was very fresh and all tail meat. Service was excellent. Great time.

There are many restaurants that serve lobster in the area. Some are pricey and some cheaper (you get what you pay for). R & W is the best of both worlds. There are 2 options for seating - inside and outside under umbrellas. If it is good weather definitely pick the outside. And they do take reservations so call ahead... More

But who comes to Maine for average food, let alone average seafood? Two over-cooked lobster dinners, 1 under-cooked fried clam and shrimp combo served on the coolish side. The kids' cheese and mac with hotdog and chicken nuggets were all done to perfection, but then how could you mess that up? Fire burger was reportedly OK, but appeared more rare... More

Sitting on the deck you can watch the steam pots cooking while eating really fresh lobster. The onion rings are outrageous and the lobster soup delicious. This is a great "kick back and enjoy life" place. Fresh seafood rules but other items are available. I make it a point to eat there at least twice during our annual week in... More

We stopped here for our last dinner in Maine, and were very pleased with our food. Portions were very generous. Atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Service was good. We will be back.

We walked in in the middle of the afternoon were promptly seated and then ignored. The place was messy and dirty with stupid signs stuck to the ceiling. Other patrons were being served plates pied high with enormous mounds of fried foods. The menu prices seemed high for the area. There were about four servers bustling around. after about 15 minutes I... More

While you're out and about in Downeast, a stop by Ruth and Wimpy's should be on your list. Great local food at affordable prices for a family. Treat yourself to a lobster dinner and fine selection of Maine crafted beers. The staff is very friendly. No need to over dress as casual is fine. Relax, this is Maine. When your... More

Good stop for an early dinner on a very rainy and cold day driving back from Schoodic Point to Bar Harbor. We definitely felt warmer after eating lobster at Ruth & Wimpy's. Our waitress was very friendly and the service was prompt. It was fun to watch how they steam lobsters, mussels and corn - all in one net. Not... More
