Description: A great rusticated Maine restaurant where you can get a reasonably priced lobsta dinner and the best homemade pie anywhere. The personnel are always great and Wimpy is a neat guy. I love it there. No trip to Bar Harbor is complete without a stop at Ruth & Wimpy's (and I haven't got a dime in this).

We have eaten lunch and dinner here and had good food and service both times. Definitely a more relaxed atmosphere but a good place to take the family. Surf and turf and a salad bar.

Had a great dinner with the family, sat outside and got our food pretty quick. Yummy food and they have some great pies also

Sure they have a big lobster boat in the dooryard - one that with a big metal box on it that when its hot will BURN your kids... the place is full of obnoxious 'decorations'... the servers are tired and phony.. and the food was edible. The best part of the meal was the blueberry pie. When your server doesn't... More

Was recommender to us by our Motel as the place for lobster! We were not disappointed. Lots of people but our wait was not too long, hubby ordered the whole lobster. I had their prime rib special that night. Lobster was great, but he said if he ordered again he would get lazy mans lobster or the tails, too much... More

We went to this restaurant on a local recommendation and were not disappointed. It's a rustic place with a lot of personality, a clear favorite with the locals, and an extensive menu. We had a whole-lobster dinner with two sides for about $15 and the food was delicious. The place mats even had instructions with drawings to help lobster novices... More

About 10 years ago Ruth & Wimpy's had some great food and service.... our last visit there (was definitely our LAST visit there!) was a total and complete disappointment. From the tacky, cheap and holey dollar store table covers, to the ignorant, just-rolled-out-of-bed-looking, clueless staff and the food is a total and complete disappointment if compared to how they USED... This was our second day in Maine, and after a day of touring, we saw the big lobster that is located in front of Ruth & Wimpys and decided to stop and take a picture of it. Well, the big lobster did what it was obviously designed to do, it caused us to stop and check out the place. After... More

This was one of two recommendations we got from the locals. It was absolutely worth the trip. The Lobster Bites are to die for. It's very casual dining, but excellent food.

Bad and slow as s$@t service. Food meh... Wait staff is leaderless and clueless. Waited 20 minutes to have someone take our order. Another 30 minutes for drinks to arrive. Wait staff was not rude per se just slow and rudderless

We ate lobster everyday during our 5 day stay in the area. This was the best priced with friendly staff. Entertaining decor. You can eat inside or out. Lobster is made many ways. This is a down home local place nothing fancy. Wear your jeans and get going.
