Lobster ate Squishy at Ruth and Wimpys

Ruth and Wimpy's was a great find. Most of the places closer to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are touristy and are way more expensive. However, several locals told us to stop here. They said the food was good and also cheaper. The locals were right. The menu had a lot more on it then... read more

Prices were reasonable but the food we ordered was terrible (when it finally arrived). Service was worse. I'll be dining elsewhere on my next visit Down East.

Found this place on our return from Schoodic Point. Absolutely glad we stopped. I had a goodsized lobster roll with fabulous onion rings that reminded me of tempura they were so light and crispy. We saw a guy picking up 3 blueberry pies to go and decided to try it. Wow was it great! It beat every pie we tried... More

Tasty fresh lobster served in different ways. They also have many other dishes to choose from if you had enough of lobsters.

Ate at Rith and Whimpies, loved the big lobster out front, the charm carried on to the inside. The food was very tasty, would definitely recommend others to eat there. Check out the blueberry pie with blue berry ice cream! Certainly the best of Maine!

Yes this is a so called tourist trap(so say most reviewers) but who cares if the food is good right? If going on a Friday or Saturday night...make a reservation, the place is packed. Waitstaff was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Food is cooked to order, so if you are looking to get in and get out....go somewhere else. Food was well... More

This place has never heard the word "pretentious ". We had lobster, corn on the cob, and a roll for $9.95. We did not have linen napkins, fine china (or any china, for that matter), well-dressed waitresses, or an elegant environment, but the food was good, most customers seemed to be locals, and the environment seemed genuine and real "Maine".... This eatery is located a few miles from high-priced tourist-oriented restaurants that need to make a year's income in the summer months and their prices reflect it. Ruth and Wimpy's is open ten months a year and is supported by the locals. This is a family restaurant with a large menu. It has daily specials, a wide variety of seafood... More
