Good food-Nice atmosphere!

Yes this is a so called tourist trap(so say most reviewers) but who cares if the food is good right? If going on a Friday or Saturday night...make a reservation, the place is packed. Waitstaff was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Food is cooked to order, so if you are looking to get in and get... read more

This place has never heard the word "pretentious ". We had lobster, corn on the cob, and a roll for $9.95. We did not have linen napkins, fine china (or any china, for that matter), well-dressed waitresses, or an elegant environment, but the food was good, most customers seemed to be locals, and the environment seemed genuine and real "Maine".... all i will say is stay away from this place if you're on vacation - tourist trap. the locals might like it but the service and most importantly the food is horrible.

This eatery is located a few miles from high-priced tourist-oriented restaurants that need to make a year's income in the summer months and their prices reflect it. Ruth and Wimpy's is open ten months a year and is supported by the locals. This is a family restaurant with a large menu. It has daily specials, a wide variety of seafood... More

Ruth and Wimpy's is a wonderful place to dine. The great food is prepared at the restaurant The restaurant has many collections, model trucks, license plates, beer bottles and funny quotes. The wait staff is always friendly, and very helpful.

We went there once, very late on a rainy Saturday, and vowed we would go back. We did. It was a Sunday. Good church people. They have signs, all over, saying that they are closed on Sundays. That kind of sums up the place -- for the better. Original, very Maine, very rustic, no nonsense place mainly for the LOCALS.... More

We eat here fairly regularly and usually it's fine. But for the second time we walked out after half an hour with no server. Other later tables got served and were eating when all we got was a server walking past saying "I'll be right back, hon". After this happened two more times, we left. The restaurant was quite bust,... More

We left after sitting for a half an hour being totally ignored. It was dirty messy and overpriced. Stupid signs on the ceiling. big portions for the other guests who got served.

Great seafood. Basic atmosphere. Good service. Lobster rolls, fried clams, steamers, onion rings, fries, cole slaw all great. Not a cheap date, but fairly reasonable for the area.

We drove 2500 miles for Maine lobster in Maine, and went to a place close to our hotel. This one. The lobster was sweet, but COLD AND OVERCOOKED. My husband's Haddock was much better. Service was good.
