This place is a bit out of the way, but the drive there is beautiful. The food there is the best food you've ever had! The restaurant in is a cozy inn where you can spend the night if you wish. The food is so good here it's were I go every birthday, anniversary, and special occasion.

With so many great restaurants in the area, we are flattered that you've chosen the Crocker House to celebrate your special occasions. And you're right, 5 miles off of US Rte. 1 and down the Point Road is a bit of a trek, but as you said, the drive is beautiful ( drivers just have to keep an eye out... More

We are regulars here and we have never been anything but delighted with the experience. The food, atmosphere and service are amazing. I think I have had everything they offer and highly recommend any dish. We have also stayed at the inn and it was great. This is a must go to place in Downeast Maine!

Wow, that's quite a review title, thank you! I have to say it was especially appreciated because the last reviewer before you was "Disappointed". We know we can't possibly please all of the people all of the time, but are delighted that you are a regular guest and have found the food and service to be consistently good. Many thanks... More

Not an inexpensive place, it does have a nice setting and ambiance. I ordered the large ribeye and my wife had the pork (oddly there is no chicken, which she prefers, on the menu.) Perhaps my expectations were set a bit high by the price (and my relatives who live in the area) raves for the food, but I found... More

Thank you for your review. We're glad you and your wife enjoyed elements of your meal but are terribly sorry you were disappointed with your rib-eye steak. Unfortunately, that particular cut of beef does have a band of fat that runs through it (which makes it quite tender, but necessitates some trimming on the dinner plate). We serve filet mignon... The dinner here was amazing - gourmet fresh, beautifully presented, colorful, and large portions. Worthy of any city known for its restaurants - and the plus here is that the site is on a quiet peninsula on the upper Maine coast. The walk around the point was a wonderful way to unwind after a long drive. Breakfast in the morning... More

Thank you very much for your lovely review! First time guests are often surprised by the menu, given our out-of-the-way location. Can't help but notice we didn't score a perfect 5 and sincerely hope it was due to something we have no control over (such as a water view from the Inn). Thank you for taking the time to write... My friend and I went here to eat we got the seafood alfredo and the Filet au poivre both were absolutely amazing and the portions were great.. completely satisfied and will be back many times.

Thanks, Jackie! The Seafood Pasta and Filet Au Poivre are two of the most popular dishes on the menu. The pasta dish is very rich, but actually doesn't contain any cheese, as in an Alfredo. The sauce is made with a lobster reduction and heavy cream. So glad you were pleased with your meal and the service (we're fortunate to... More

Their slogan - "a little out of the way and way out of the ordinary" - is right on the money! We made a special point to find this restaurant and Inn. While it is far too out of the way for me to stay here, the restaurant is fantastic. We arrived a bit early for our reservation so we... More

Thank you, Pam! The slogan "a little out of the way..." was created for us back in the early '80's; and we're so grateful to learn it still applies. For guests looking for a destination with lots of restaurants/shops and sights within walking distance, the Inn would decidedly be the wrong choice. But for those looking to stay at a... More

Extremely friendly and great service. It's obvious that the people here love their jobs. Service was impeccable and the food.... wow. So good that we ate here twice in one week! The dining room is surrounded by glass windows and overlooks a well manicured garden. Makes for a great atmosphere. If you are in the area make this one a... More

Thank you for being a return guest over the years and for taking the time to write a review, Mary! Tim and Laura are wonderful people; we're very fortunate to have them on staff. After all these years, many guests (and staff) do seem like family. Again, many thanks. More

Crocker House is not on the way to anywhere, but worth the five miles or so down a very rural road to find it. Dependably good food and great ambiance. Not inexpensive, but not eye-watering either. By some standards the service is often only "acceptable," but this might be by design since I think they pride themselves on not hurrying... More

Thank you for your review, Roger! You're absolutely spot on; the Crocker House is not on the way to anywhere; we do enjoy a very rural location (five miles off Route 1 down the Point Road). But so glad you've found the restaurant to be "dependably good" with "great ambiance". You're absolutely correct in your observation about the service: our... More
