An Amazing Place to Have a Small Wedding!!!!

My husband and I got married five months ago and what a great decision it was to have our wedding at The Sedgley Place!!! To say that staff went above and beyond for us is an understatement. I hadn't been to the Sedgley Place in many years so I was looking forward to it. The decor and popularity haven't changed but the food and the overall experience have changed and not for the better. We were seated downstairs in the main dining area which has beautiful floors and antiques but the dated wallpaper needs to be updated.... More

Love this place because the food is always great. The menu changes weekly with the choice of meat-poultry- and fish. It starts off with cheese and crackers then choice of soup or salads, the main entree with fresh vegetables, then desert. It is an old homestead house with good seating for quiet conversation with people you are with. Reservation required... More

I have been to this restaurant a few items and to me it is a traditional quaint little Maine style restaurant. The ambiance is warming, service is good, food quality is above average however options are limited with a small seasonal menu. You typically see the older generation enjoying a relaxing meal or people celebrating a special occasion. I would suggest... More

I have been coming to this restaurant for years. Have not been there in a few years though. It has not changed. Still a beautiful farmhouse out in the country. They serve 5 course meals in three settings. All the food is wonderfully presented and the vegetables are grown on site which is used in many of there dishes. The... More

Every year for the past 11 years, we have spent a week at the Belgrade Lakes in Maine. One of the highlights of this time is a dinner at The Sedgley Place. The four of us have a difficult time making decisions on the menu. The stuffed mushrooms and French onion soup are particularly enjoyable appetizers to me. The prime... More

My husband and I dined here with another couple on a Sat nt. We thought the $30 per person price a bit expensive, but this did include 5 courses. The food was very good, we found it a bit strange that the waitress read all the choices rather quickly as left no menu. (I brought the menu up on my... More

I haven't been to Sedgley Place in nearly 20 years, but I took my two adult children there to celebrate my daughter's new job while we were staying at our summer camp near Augusta. The food was surprisingly delicious. The service and atmosphere was excellent. My family liked the five courses and the meat entrees, prime rib and filet mignon... More

We returned last night after a six or seven year hiatus. The service was excellent, although we were seated on the second floor. The first floor has a nice ambiance, and can be obtained by a 5:00 PM or 7:00 PM seating. The waitress took the time to explain the specials, and a fine two hour feast commenced. The salad... More

This is my new favorite restaurant! They serve you a 5 course meal, and since it was our anniversary, we also got a pre-appetizer. The waitress was very helpful and professional, and truly seemed to like working there. She told us the story of the house, and how the owners also grow a lot of the food organically, and dinners,...
