It was a cold, damp day, perfect for soup and chowder, so we stopped at Cole Farms for a bowl. I ordered the fish chowder. What a mistake! The milk had been diluted with water, giving the appearance of a cloudy liquid, at best. The fish was definitely NOT fresh. I found one chunk of potato and no onion in... More

I have been going to Cole Farms since I was a little girl. We went there on Nov. 1 & I was shocked & worried when I saw the place & new menu. There is now a full bar, a large screen TV,I stuff like mozarella sticks & other trendy food on the menu. Plus it now refers to itself... More

A step back in time...food is simple, but good. From the meat loaf to the fried chicken to the macaroni and cheese...to the delicious grilled salmon. Salads of all kinds. All the great sandwiches you know and can't find in some of the newer places. Daily specials (which rotate seasonally) include turkey dinner, chicken pot pie, baked or fried haddock.... More

Cole Farms has been serving patrons for many years in Gray, ME. It has been some 20 years since we last visited this establishment and the food is still good home style cooking. What seems to have changed is the service. I recall the days of servers who had been there for years, but on this evening, most of the... More

We stopped by for an early lunch. Because chicken livers are no longer on the menu, my husband tried the beef liver w/onions & mashed potatoes. I had American chop suey. Both lunches came w/small salad & hot rolls. The salad was okay, w/ delicious Cole Farms own dressing. The American chop suey could have used more spice, ketchup, or... More

I grew up eating many meals at Cole Farms. I remember the original place and eating cheeseburgers and chocolate frappes. Unfortunately it's not the same. They still have great pies! I had fried haddock and it was hot, tasty and the sweet potato fries were really good. I give it a 4. My husband had the meatloaf. He gave it... More

What a great breakfast find. Having celiac it is very hard to find places that accommodate and or take you seriously. The waitress gave me a special menu and was told food was made in a separate kitchen. Had a breakfast sandwich it was amazing. Also good to have home fries not the best could use some seasoning. But it... More

My party of five had a wide range of meals, my salmon burger was just that a nice piece of salmon on a hamburger bun, with lettuce and tomato and mayo. Those who ordered meals chose sweet potato fries instead of regular fries, (xtra charge) the fries were cold, it they were hot and homemade the rating would be higher.... More
