my wife and I went here as part of a package from the Cabernet Inn in North Conway. The Inn keepers recommended it and I now understand why. We both chose the tenderloin which was great. From the salads to the Creme Brûlée it was well worth the trip.

Went to the pub part of the resteraunt, which is in the cellar. Had a very warm ,relaxed feel. Kind of like a wine cellar. Defiantly check it out!

Excellent food and drink. The staff is friendly and inviting and the menu changes to incorporate seasonal and local offerings. For either a special occasion in the upstairs dining room with a mountain view or for a specialty cocktail and small plate in the downstairs pub, you will enjoy your visit and will be sure to return!

We were able to walk in without a reservation on a Saturday night. We started with the steamers and Fries. ( Its a combo they serve together. Steamers were the best. Fries small and crispy if you like them this way. Had the Salmon, cooked to perfection. It came with rice and hot flavored cold sliced pickles. When you combine... More

If you enjoy dining in an old inn this is a great choice - friendly, attentive staff and great meals. We choose the small plate and it was plenty of food!

Thank you, kayak01, for your comments. I will eagerly pass along to our staff your notes. We also appreciate your mentioning our Bistro plates, which offer smaller portions which are all very satisfying as well. Whether you're interested in a bite to eat or a multiple course meal, our menu has something for everyone. More

December is a cold time in Maine but the Oxford House was warm and comfy. The rooms are individuality and comfortably decorated. There was a wedding but all was quiet by 11 PM. The food is delicious and breakfast is made to order. Wonderful innkeepers. Will definitely return.

Comfortable, welcoming environment. Excellence in food, from grilled caeser to large scallops to steak. The home made ice creams with cookies is one of my favorite desserts. A slow paced country inn that does it right.

We appreciate your comments, Paul5439. The chef, servers, and the entire kitchen staff cares that our guests have a great meal and good experience. The foods that you mentioned were among the most popular items on our fall menu; we hope you'll be back soon to try our new winter offerings. And remember, our ice creams are always made fresh. Food was excellent ! Service is slow ! There wasn't enough or efficient service ! We sat on the couch cause there were no available tables. We have eaten here before and have always enjoyed the food. The apps are fun, (crispy fried brussel sprouts...buffalo shrimp...shrimp tacos)and for a main course, you can't go wrong with the steak frittes. This dinner was made five stars because of the service we received from Megs, a pleasant and professional server who made us feel comfortable and relaxed. She was... More
