Great Ambiance and Service with Very Good but not Great Food

Lovely old home with options to sit in the attractive dining room or on the very large wraparound front porch. Service was friendly and attentive, and the menu had many and varied options. They've opened up for a while now a secondary Pub/Restaurant downstairs. Different vibe, a little lower priced and really good food and ambience. This is a great 'adult' alternative in town (only alternative :) ?). We've gone a few times when we come in for the summer and we always enjoy it. Food is american fare. Creative recipes. Good drink... More

My husband and I had dinner at the Oxford House, a beautiful old inn in the heart of the town. We were seated outdoors, which was a large screened in area that was separate from the main restaurant. The servers were great and the food was beyond delicious. My husband ordered the risotto and buffalo shrimp which were out of... More

Wow!! We were treated to an extraordinary meal at the Oxford House Restaurant, and can't wait to return. We enjoyed pork chop, filet mignon, salmon, lobster carbonara - all were outstanding. Portions were perfectly sized - large enough to be considered generous, and yet small enough to be reasonable. Rarely do we take time to rave about the salads -... More

I had the Salmon "Pad-Thai" Salad which was very good (not much "pad thai" to it, it was more like a peanutty coleslaw with salmon on the side), I'd order it again. My dad's Lobster Carbonara was bomb.com and my mom had the Atlantic Salmon with pesto vegetables which was very good as well. Lobster deviled eggs appetizer was great.... More

We decided to try a new place in the North Conway area hoping to get away from the crowds. We made a reservation and drove to Fryburg (about a 15 min ride). We were seated in the pub in the basement. We began by ordering drinks and appetizers. The beer suggested by our waitress was great. Our appetizers (crab cakes... More

Suggested this place for a return visit for 14 of us to celebrate 3 birthdays. We had a private room with a beautiful view of meadows and mountains. There is an ambitious menu from small plates to full entrees. My husband ordered a pulled duck dish as he is a duck aficionado. He returned it after trying the duck, which tasted... More

Good Morning LongislandSuemay, Thank you so much for your return visit and for such a wonderful gathering to celebrate three birthdays. I am sorry that your husband did not like his "Hoisin Braised Pulled Duck Bistro Plate served with Crispy Scallion Pancakes, Asian BBQ & Roasted Grapes". This dish was created to mimic the flavors and textures of a semi... More

After vacationing at our condo at Attitash Mountain for 15 years we thought we had experienced all the best restaurants in the area... not so! We decided to venture out to Fryeburg Maine, about 40 minutes from our place in North Conway NH. And we are so happy that we did. We wanted a special place to celebrate my birthday,... More

There was lots of variety and imagination in the menu. We enjoyed the special chowder, a wonderful bibb salad and I had pulled duck with hoison sauce on pancakes. To die for.
