Great little pub downstairs

For a really special experience the pub downstairs is a unique experience in this classy old style inn. They always have a special drink of the night that is sure to tempt your palette. Thank you for your comments, @BillREnconway. You were correct in thinking that the same menu is offered in the pub and the restaurant. Also, we like to think that our Specialty Cocktails provide something a little different and always delicious. More

Far better than hoped for menu, gracious and warm service. A real gem. Don't bother going anywhere else.

We ate at the Oxford House Inn (in the pub) on a Saturday night. The space is really lovely, and we were able to sit on couches and have a cocktail while we waited for our table to be ready. (The maple Manhattans are delicious!) We order the onion ring tower for apps (very good) and duck (just okay) and... More

We so enjoy our guests and appreciate your feedback. Many guests love the pub with its special charm...granite stone walls, lounge, the long cushioned bench seats, intimate tables hear the fire, the display by local artists, etc. I'm sure you can imagine that due to it's popularity, it can sometimes be difficult to get a seat without reservations. Creative but not crazy. Satisfying but not overstuffed. A comfortable yet classy dining room with nice views in the daylight. In a tourist region loaded with taverns and apre-ski places, Oxford House Inn is steps above the bunch in quality of food, and value. It is 15 minutes from the bustle of North Conway, across the border in Maine. This... More

You seem to have perfectly described the cuisine (according to other TripAdvisor guests): "Creative by not crazy; satisfying but not overstuffed; comfortable yet classy". We appreciate our apres-ski regulars as well as our fine diners. And we're thankful that you have made us a "return to" destination. More

my wife and I went here as part of a package from the Cabernet Inn in North Conway. The Inn keepers recommended it and I now understand why. We both chose the tenderloin which was great. From the salads to the Creme Brûlée it was well worth the trip.

We're so pleased you chose to dine with us while staying at the Cabernet Inn. The drive from North Conway is approximately 20 minutes, but as you said, we do try to make the meal worth the drive. More

Went to the pub part of the resteraunt, which is in the cellar. Had a very warm ,relaxed feel. Kind of like a wine cellar. Defiantly check it out!

Excellent food and drink. The staff is friendly and inviting and the menu changes to incorporate seasonal and local offerings. For either a special occasion in the upstairs dining room with a mountain view or for a specialty cocktail and small plate in the downstairs pub, you will enjoy your visit and will be sure to return!

We were able to walk in without a reservation on a Saturday night. We started with the steamers and Fries. ( Its a combo they serve together. Steamers were the best. Fries small and crispy if you like them this way. Had the Salmon, cooked to perfection. It came with rice and hot flavored cold sliced pickles. When you combine... More

If you enjoy dining in an old inn this is a great choice - friendly, attentive staff and great meals. We choose the small plate and it was plenty of food!

Thank you, kayak01, for your comments. I will eagerly pass along to our staff your notes. We also appreciate your mentioning our Bistro plates, which offer smaller portions which are all very satisfying as well. December is a cold time in Maine but the Oxford House was warm and comfy. The rooms are individuality and comfortably decorated. There was a wedding but all was quiet by 11 PM. The food is delicious and breakfast is made to order. Wonderful innkeepers. Will definitely return.
