We were able to walk in without a reservation on a Saturday night. We started with the steamers and Fries. ( Its a combo they serve together. Steamers were the best. Fries small and crispy if you like them this way. Had the Salmon, cooked to perfection. It came with rice and hot flavored cold sliced pickles. When you combine... More

If you enjoy dining in an old inn this is a great choice - friendly, attentive staff and great meals. We choose the small plate and it was plenty of food!

Thank you, kayak01, for your comments. I will eagerly pass along to our staff your notes. We also appreciate your mentioning our Bistro plates, which offer smaller portions which are all very satisfying as well. Whether you're interested in a bite to eat or a multiple course meal, our menu has something for everyone. More

December is a cold time in Maine but the Oxford House was warm and comfy. The rooms are individuality and comfortably decorated. There was a wedding but all was quiet by 11 PM. The food is delicious and breakfast is made to order. Wonderful innkeepers. Will definitely return.

Comfortable, welcoming environment. Excellence in food, from grilled caeser to large scallops to steak. The home made ice creams with cookies is one of my favorite desserts. A slow paced country inn that does it right.

We appreciate your comments, Paul5439. The chef, servers, and the entire kitchen staff cares that our guests have a great meal and good experience. The foods that you mentioned were among the most popular items on our fall menu; we hope you'll be back soon to try our new winter offerings. And remember, our ice creams are always made fresh. We have eaten here before and have always enjoyed the food. The apps are fun, (crispy fried brussel sprouts...buffalo shrimp...shrimp tacos)and for a main course, you can't go wrong with the steak frittes. This dinner was made five stars because of the service we received from Megs, a pleasant and professional server who made us feel comfortable and relaxed. She was... More

Had dinner with my parents who live about 15 miles away Was overwhelmingly surprised as I have been coming to this area for 17 years and have been underwhelmed with the food choices for a vegetarian and usually have settled for something put together that less than acceptable The three of us had a great meal in a beautiful small... Thank you, Kathleen B, for your recommendation. Our chef works hard to make options available for many palates and preferences, including vegetarian, gluten free, etc. Our soup option changes regularly; we are very pleased that you enjoyed it. We hope you'll join us again the next time you're in the area. More

If you're looking for a: 1. true New England inn; 2. overlooking the Mountains; 3. in a Maine "academy" town; 4. with great food, service, atmosphere and views, the Oxford House Inn is well worth the visit. It's a bit of a drive for us, but we've been here a number of times and we'll be back again. Any time... More

Had a lovely dinner with my daughter. The food was wonderful and the service outstanding. Make sure you make reservations weeks even months in advance before your visit to Fryberg.

Wonderful original 100 year old house, like eating in someone's diningroom. Interesting and very appetizing food in creative combinations. The service was very competent and friendly, even though the espresso machine was broken down.
