I have been here numerous times before, and always had a very good experience from arrival to departure. However, upon arriving, the hostess had her back to me and was fondling her blonde ponytail incessantly. A server made eye contact and acknowledged me. At that point, the hostess turned around, without any self-awareness, with a surly look on her face.... More

The reviews on Tripadvisor suggest that the food is good here. It is not. Any tavern restaurant that can't make a good/decent burger is not worth the rent. Mine had a cold stale bun with an over cooked (I ordered medium rare) burger. Crumbly, dry meat. Pretty ugh. My salad was also pretty bad - a pile of spinach leaves... More

Met friends who recommended the Tavern. Cozy space, not too tight. Friendly staff, but our waitress had us wondering where she'd gone a few times. Prices are a bit high, even for coastal Maine. Fish and chips had a large portion of fish and a small portion of fries. Both were tasty. My son's burger (local Pineland beef) was excellent.... More

We stayed at the adjoining Harraseeket Inn for Thanksgiving week, and ate here several times. We loved the atmosphere (cozy and warm, especially during snowy weather) and the level of good service. I had lobster twice because it was the best! The lobster soup and clam chowder are a real TREAT!! Good place to hang out. Great cocktails also. No... More

Freeport can be a hectic experience, even in winter. Well, especially in winter, if it's around Christmas and people are shopping. The tavern is located inside the 4-diamond rated Harraseeket Inn. It should be quiet, or at least hushed, or maybe people talking and having a good time. Today, though, there was one man who just didn't know, or care,... More

At the end of a long day sightseeing, this is a nice place to have a drink and a bowl of hot soup and bread. Love the fireplace.

Have eaten here several times. Always good! They try to source as many local foods as possible. We usually have the lunch buffet-that way we can try many dishes! We like the feel of the inn. If you are going to meet someone for lunch-they have a lovely room with fireplace to spend some time chatting-it is part of Harraseket Inn-close... More

The Broad Arrow Tavern is situated within the Harraseeket Inn, a wonderful respite from shopping in Freeport. The atmosphere is rustic, servers are knowledgeable and very efficient. We were a fairly large party for lunch, and our food was delicious and well prepared. The menu is extensive with wonderful selections for fish, meat, and vegetarian options. We sampled the crab... It was expensive. $150 for two adults and a 12 yr old. Only a drink a piece. Food was quite good. Servers were on the ball. No complaints except the price.

Sat at the bar with some locals - felt like home. Great menu with a variety of choices and it was hard to choose.
