Plain, Simple, and Good

This Cafe reminds us of the Blueberry Muffin in N. Conway, NH. No frills in or out but good comfort food. We stopped by for breakfast and we're seated promptly. Our waitress was polite and sweet. The portions are HUGE! Hubby ordered 2 eggs over easy, toast, 2 giant pancakes, and bacon. I ordered... read more

This café was highly rated but I have no idea why. We ordered oatmeal with blueberries and scrambled eggs with cheese and bacon. I specified crisp bacon. It was as limp as a dishrag. When the waitress came by I asked if I could get CRISP bacon. She said she would have them recook it. It came back every bit... More

Good food, fast service, fair prices. The breakfast menu was extensive and served hot and fast. Plenty of tables to choose from and the waitress was friendly.

We had breakfast mid-week and morning. Seating was mostly occupied at 10 AM, with only 2 or 3 available tables. The staff was quick to bus tables as they cleared to keep waiting to a minimum. The food was very good, eggs done as ordered, and the kitchen did well keeping things moving. We recommend it for travelers, even though... More

Hello Clearwater- We pride ourselves on the friendliness of our staff as well as making this Café a great place to work so no one wants to leave. The faces you see this year were the faces you saw last year and will see again next year. The majority of our server staff has been here 10-15 years, one has... More

Had dinner for two here and it was really good. One turkey dinner and one Yankee post roast. Both came with a nice tossed salad and a basket of homemade rolls with a unique herbal flavor. The service was excellent, the surroundings comfortable and the price a very reasonable $27. I would definitely eat here again and recommend it to... More

Been here several times with family and friends, but primarily for breakfast. They have creative breakfast specials. Their coffee is always hot and they keep the mugs full especially on a busy weekend morning, which is a plus! Tried their gigantic cinnamon roll for the first time on my last visit (have wanted to try it several times but couldn't... More

Hello- Thank you so much for your great review! I so love that you called us the "best kept secret in Freeport"!! We are trying our best NOT to be a secret, although I'm sure many of our regulars would like to see it stay a secret. Weekends definitely draw a crowd but we will easily serve over 400 guests... This is a very popular breakfast place. The food is decent, not great, not bad. They serve other meals, too, but breakfast is the best meal they serve.

Hello Freeport- We are known for our breakfast however, I think you might get a little flack from some of our Regular lunch and dinner guests suggesting that breakfast is the "best " meal we serve. We have quite a following for our fried clams, Baked Haddock, Reuben, Twisted Tuna, and our homemade Lobster alfredo. Thank you for taking the... More

The Freeport Cafe is our go-to local spot for great breakfasts. There's always a line there, but it moves quickly. The menu is extensive and fresh - and it is well worth the drive to the less crazy south end of town.

Hello Joe from Portland- Thanks for the two thumbs up review! We think we are worth the drive, nice to see someone else does too! Everything is made from scratch daily and cooked to order! Not too many of us around that still do it "old school". We hope to see you again soon- Cheers! More

This is a particularly wonderful place for brunch. It is right of 295, on Route 1 near Freeport within view and convenient to stop for any meal. They are open ear.y morn inning until late. Though usually busy, the service is good and efficient.

We've stopped here just about every trip we've made to Maine. Breakfast is awesome. We got in late this time, but still had breakfast at suppertime. Blueberry pancakes are still excellent. The cinnamon rolls have gotten bigger, a whole plate now. If you like breakfast, this is your place.
