Great bar food and excellent beers

Always an enjoyable meal. The pastrami smoked salmon sandwich was great. We have tried many menu items and always good.

Fabulous Fish and Chips. Great bear selection. Long tables where you might be seated with another party. Good service.

Another great visit to Gritty's! Have to disagree with the other reviewer though. This location blows Portland away and is larger and the service is better and friendlier. No difference in food though, same quality and the mac and cheese with kielbasa is unreal! A must stop if you are in town and finished at the outlets! You cannot beat... More

I tried this restaurant for the first time with some friends and I thought it was a great lunch. I ordered the turkey club sandwich with cranberry mayo. I was pleasantly surprised to see it arrive with real turkey instead of the deli turkey a lot of places use. Plenty of turkey, bacon, and the mayo was flavorful. The homemade... More

My mother loves this place. Every time she comes up to Maine for a visit, she likes to go to Gritty's for their lobster roll/clam chowder special. The staff is very pleasant, however, the bench like cafeteria style seating can be problematic if you wind up sitting next to a rowdy group of drinkers. Hard to have a conversation when... More

Came here once for a dinner after a day of shopping with family. Ordered the mac n cheese with fried jalapeño peppers. Decent portion, decent meal, did enjoy the peppers though! Visited August 2012.

Usually stop here when we are in the area. The food is typical pub grub but always good. I had the lobster roll and chowder special and my husband had the burger. I have to say mine was just ok which is unusual. The beer is great and my favorite is the Black Fly Stout.

Service was good, prices were also good. I had the lobster roll and clam chowder special. The chowder was not very good and the lobster tasted like it had been made earlier in the day, it was too cold to be enjoyable. If you are looking for a great selection of beer and some pub food then you will probably... More

We've been here a few times over the years and it never disappoints! Fantastic burgers, pub-grub style apps and great brews on tap. The homemade chips are a must! Skip the fries and get these crunchy salty chips instead.

Always busy, classic pub holds a nice place in Maine. Food is nothing special, decor is noting special. Staff varies, nothing special. The beer offerings are special. A nice piece of Freeport.
