The front desk staff at our hotel recommended it for a causal dining experience. The pub food choices is different from our Texas usual. Our waitress, Emily, was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed brew, lobster bisque and lobster Mac & cheese. The portions were large, so would recommend the smaller portion unless sharing. Another member of our group enjoyed the... More

OK, you are in Freeport to visit L.L Bean (or one of the dozens of other outlets that owe their existence to L.L. Bean's overwhelming presence here), and you are hungry after all that shopping. You pull in to Gritty McDuff's either because you saw lots of cars in the lot or because you felt sorry for McDuff when you... More

We stopped in for Sunday Night Football, dinner, and a beer. Seating was pretty weird. The only thing available for the two of us was at the bar. Not a big deal, but the bartender was pretty busy and getting our food ordered was slow. The chili was fine, but the beer was just not good. I don't know if... More

The receptionist of the hotel told us to go there to have dinner. It was 10 p.m.Few of people eating, fried potatoes with the skin , not bad anyway and hamburger. Very kind people working there.Going out I thought to have wasted 20 dollars.

Good food, friendly staff. Seating is at big tables and we were seated with another couple which we enjoyed. It was nice to talk with new "friends" while we had dinner and drinks. Highly recommend!

I enjoyed a delicious pulled pork sandwich while mate had a tasty lamb burger. The locally brewed craft ale complimented the meal perfectly. Service and ambiance was top-notch. First time here and will return next trip in town.

The Freeport location is in line with the rest of the Maine Gritty's locations: good food, good beer great prices. The first thing to know about the Gritty's (all locations) is they utilize family style seating. In Freeport this means a couple things. First off you'll be sitting at long tables, typically with another family. If this isn't your cup... More

Gritty's has the best lobster. I love the atmosphere, a fun place to eat. I always stop here when I am in Freeport.

Just visited the pub for brews and dinner. This was one of many visits we have made over past years. Beautiful night so we chose to sit outside in adirondack chairs for a beer. We then moved to picnic tables on deck outside for dinner. The three of us are all mug club members from the Portland location so had... More
