We were visiting overnight as part of shopping in Freeport. We felt the food was not not good. We had ordered a pork and a beef dish and there was no discernible difference in the taste or appearance of the slimy , heavily sauced meat, which lent the sense that it had been soaking for hours. The portions were large... More

We stopped in here to get some takeout when we were in Freeport over the weekend. It was very good! We got a pupu platter, pork fried rice and chicken lo mein. The rice and lo mein was very fresh and some of the best we have had. The fried food was not at all greasy and was also very tasty... More

The staff rushed us through the meal even though there were only 2 other couples in the restaurant. The szechuan chicken was rated to be hot and spicy, but it was totally bland. We also had beef and broccoli. The chicken and beef had a jelly like texture, not at all like fresh meat. The vegetables in both dishes were... More

Although I arrived just a few minutes before closing, they seemed genuinely happy to have my business. Even at the late hour The food with quickly prepared, hot, and extremely delicious. The waitress was sweet and did everything she could to make sure I was happy. If you're looking for excellent Asian food in Freeport, this is your place. I... More

Recently returned for my favorite spicy Szechuan shrimp and found it packed with huge, tender shrimp in a delicious sweet, tangy, nicely hot sauce, but the veggie mix was dominated by chopped celery. Must maintain quality to keep customers coming back!

It had been several years since we had eaten at China Rose, but I remember this place as having good food and good service. It was one of our favorites. Something has changed. The food is simply not tasty. We should have checked the Trip Advisor reviews before we stopped in. Once again, reviewers on this site have it right.... More

Went here on a Sunday with a girl friend. We both had the buffet at $10. There was barely a spoonful of each food item on the buffet in the metal pans. And what was there was decidedly cold. This was a lunch time, at 12:30. ugh. We will not return.

Used to be pretty good here. The original owners sold out a couple years ago...and not so good anymore. Service is still pretty good, food is just average and inconsistent. Drinks are wonderful. I love the drinks in a Chinese restaurant and these are really good as well. It's edible and average. Nothing spectacular.

Never been to China Rose, my wife had take out from there about six years ago, when she used to work nearby. She said it was very good, so we decided to stop in. They just opened as it was about 11:45am and were serving a buffet, now we are not buffet people, but thought since we was already there... More

I've had take-out from here a couple of times, and it was nothing but average. The lunch buffet is open from 11:30a-2:30p and a good value at $8.99. I highly recommend that if you are going to have the buffet, go when they first open as the food is at it's freshest and most plentiful. The buffet line features a... More
