Great shopping break!

I enjoyed my lobster roll, I thought the lobster was fresh and it had a lot on it for the price. I was not impressed with my seafood chowder! If you are up in Freeport shopping and want something quick it's worth the stop. I would not go out of my way to eat there.

The chowder was fantastic, bread bowl made it even better, and the fresh onion rings were amazing. Everything's fresh and quality. It's a small place but feels cozy and secret. The service was quick and friendly. Definately will go back. Loved it.

We stopped in to grab a quick lunch while on a port day from our cruise. The restaurant we had wanted to visit was closed due to road work, and this was nearby. Never had a lobster till before. Was told these were authentic. It was interesting. My husband enjoyed it and said the lobster was fantastic. I want so... More

We took a wrong turn, thank you to my GPS, and as we drove by trying to find a place to park, no small task during the holidays in Freeport, I saw the sign for Hot Chowder. Cold windy day, yup my kinda place. Being a native New Englander, I am very picky about my chowder and seafood. What an... More

We are Mainers and know good chowder. We stopped in for the first time yesterday for two cups of "award-winning chowder." I should have trusted my first impression of the place-shabby and dirty. We paid $17 for clam chowder, served lukewarm, and seafood chowder, equally lukewarm. The chowder was served in cardboard cups. I took a chance and sent mine... More

My husband and I had lunch here and were disappointed in the food. The Lobster Roll was good but pricy being so close to all the lobster fleets. The chowder was too thick with potatoes that were canned and not cooked enough. Very disappointing lunch.

Friendly, quick service. Lobster roll was good, not the best, but good. Chowder was thick and creamy, plenty of seafood. Service was excellent. Two ladies serving/ cooking were friendly, and efficient. Place is small, but worth the wait, if necessary. Would definitely return.

Ordered seafood chowder in a bread bowl.It had some potatoes and 3 canned salad shrimp. There was no other seafood. Bread was chewy. Man behind the counter said to cashier "No more bread bowls." Another customer said "You can have mine!!!!" Worst chowder I ever had and the worst $12.00 ever spent!!!

Hands down, best clam chowder! It's a little off the main drag of shops but worth the effort to find! One of the waitresses was handing out coupons on the street, otherwise we'd have missed this gem! I wonder if they ship to Ohio?!
