Great breakfast. Large portions so you won't leave hungry. Pancakes the size of your head. Kinda loud when lots of kids are there. Great place to meet people, family seating.

While in central Maine in August we found "The Purple Cow House of Pancakes" for breakfast. I ordered the small hash and eggs, they also offer a large hash and eggs which would easily satisfy two persons or more. The hash was the best that I have ever with huge pieces of corned beef. The serve was fast and friendly... More

Always make a point of eating at this restaurant when we come to Maine. It never fails on delivering good food, large portions and friendly wait staff. Never had a bad meal here from breakfast to lunch. Two of my favorites so far are the homemade hash...delish!...and the haddock...excellent!

The food here tastes on par with the worst frozen food available. A few servers are enlightened to civilized conduct, however most staff(male and female) seem unable to understand how to gain & retain customers.

My mother and I were looking for a place to buy a simple hot dog, and we came across this restaurant. We loved the atmosphere which is very family oriented. Though we only ordered hot dogs and onions rings, we saw the menu and it was fantastic...such a variety of meals! Salads, steaks, sandwiches, you name it, it was on... More

The restaurant is dirty, and the food is awful. Maybe I should have stayed with simple diner fare, but tried the Eggs Benedict which were inedible. The staff is very unfriendly and inattentive. I never write reviews but tried this place based on positive ratings online, and want to save others the disappointment.

The Purple Cow started out as a pleasant little restaurant that was always packed. So, they added on a "drive-through." Then they added on an extra room. Then they added on a bar and lounge. Then, to cover the complete corner, they bought the laundry and car wash next door. Now, everything there is Purple Cow. Seriously, I think you... More

The place needs to be updated soon. It states it's open all day, it's not and should be corrected. The breakfast is good. Although my husband says the bacon and sausage of prepackaged, frozen. It's a locals spot.

I had American chop suey. It was cold in the middle. The portion was way to big. The server joined our conservations. The raspberry tea was too sweet. I would never eat there again.
