Helen's is so delicious. Always depend on them for a good dinner. And, those homemade pies and desserts --yummy! Try the huge chocolate chip cookies! Delicious!

Helen's in Elsworth (and also in Machias) is an unpretentious place with simple good food and we always try to get there when we are in the area. The sandwiches and soups are very good, as are the specials. This time I had pork chops which were very well cooked and a really good baked potato. The big deal at... More

Stopped here on our way to Campobello Island. What a great surprise it was! Nicely decorated in Maine Coast fashion...Open and spacious and a large convenient parking lot. Menu is diverse touching on all palates, but not so large to compromise quality and certainly not freshness. Everything was super fresh and delicious. There were 4 of us on our way... More

Great food...we stopped for lunch and i was treated to a really good haddock sandwich...but the absolute best part was the Coconut Cream Pie for dessert! All homemade desserts! Outstanding!

Good food in local atmosphere. Only real problem was they brought the appetizer and dinner at practically the same time. They had beautiful pies unfortunately we didn't have enough room to try them!

While vacationing in Maine we had two meals at Helens. Our first experience was lunch and we stopped simply because it was nearby and looked interesting. Both of us had salads which were not bad tasting but not very imaginative......plain old head lettuce with so so dressings. But the coffee and service was good so we returned for an evening... More

I wasn't going to leave Maine without a lobster and time was running out. Liked the looks of Helen's so took a chance. Ordered a cup of fish chowder and the lobster roll, topped it off with the graham cracker pie. Everything was wonderful. Sherry was our server and she was very friendly and helpful. My husband had the pot... More

we ate here twice and both times the food was great, it isn't cheap but worth the great fresh lobster!
