Okay food, excellent service

We tried Jasper's because we had a discount coupon. We visited at 5:00 pm on a Saturday. We were quickly seated as the restaurant was not yet busy. Our waitress, Hailee, was prompt, efficient and pleasant. Both my wife and I decided on the crab cake dinner, but were told that they had run out of... read more

We arrived 5 minutes before closing and they stayed open for us. Waitress was friendly and made some great suggestions for us. Cornbread was to die for. Seriously. It was like cornbread cake! Spinach dip was great and the lobster roll was wonderful! Overall a great experience for us!

Jasper's says they're the "King of Seafood", that's a big title to claim and they fall short. This restaurant has been around since I was young, and to be around that long is an achievement in itself. If you notice the title of this review, I keep trying, but, I think I'm done. I'd go back every couple of years... More

The host was pleasant and that is all I have to say nice about this establishment. The waitress was out to lunch, pray to God himself that what they brought wasn't your lunch! Hubby had the scallops.....all six of them....soggy and served on top is his french fries. We asked the waitress several times if they were fresh or frozen... More

Had eaten here in the past & was very pleased. Our experience this time was disappointing. The corn bread was warm & very good. All four of our meals were barely warm & the 2 of our party of 4 ordered haddock & scallops that seemed to be underdone. We were unable to get our waitresses attention so did not... More

Amazing - The corn bread was great but that was about it. The rolls that came out were burnt on the top - I can't believe they even brought them out. When they brought out our dinner, my fish was lukewarm and my mashed potatoes barely even room temperature. I sent the potatoes back and within about 20 seconds they... More

The service was okay but they seemed to have a waitress covering the hostess position which caused a little back log getting seated(even though they were not busy).I did enjoy my shrimp oriental salad but my husband did not like his meal of fish and chips. Over cooked and dry.and plans not go back again. There is a lot of... More

Traditional Maine food; it's all here. Appeals to middle aged diners. Varied selection. Not inexpensive. Friendly help. Pleasant atmosphere. Average food, not bad but nothing to really rave about. Comfort Maine food, not designed for foodies. The way dining used to be 40 years ago. And 50.

We travel to the Bar Harbor region usually twice a year, and Jasper's is one of our favorite restaurants. The pricing is very affordable, but even better is the food. You may have in your lifetime had fried clams as good as Jasper's, but I assure you they couldn't have been better. Just delicious! And the baked stuff haddock is... More
