I recently enjoyed a Haddock Sandwich at Sylvia's Cafe in Ellsworth Maine. I had heard from friends and neighbors that their Haddock sandwiches were awesome and it was so true. The haddock sandwiches at Sylvia's Cafe' in Ellsworth are the best ever!

Driving into Ellsworth from the Bangor airport, we had 2 carloads of hungry family members that had left other cities for flights in the wee hours of the morning to gather in Maine for a family reunion. For all of us, it had been too long since we had spent a lot of time in Ellsworth so we took a... More

On our way to Portland we stopped here for breakfast. These people know what they're doing and don't waste time. The eggs were cooked to perfection. They have a cook who knows how to cook. If you want to go to a place where they know the difference between sunny side up, over easy and medium eggs, this is the... More

My wife and I both had a regular breakfast of eggs, bacon, home fries and toast. We found the home fries to be quite overcooked. This place is frequented by regulars who know each other and the staff. The staff were very friendly, however, the food service was quite slow. The meal was reasonably priced.

I am guessing Sylvia's Café has to be the closest that I have found in the area to being a Diner. No it isn't in a train car. Hey I am from away, so I know what I am talking about, grew up in Diners. We have stopped here several times for breakfast and lunch and now seems to be... More

we stopped at Sylvia's for a quick lunch. We prefer to try local dining places in instead of the usual chain restaurants. Sylvia's is tucked into a strip mall on Rt. 1. Inside, the atmosphere is one of a casual dining place form the 1950's. The age of the building, the selections on the menu, and the prices all lean... More

We read about this place on Trip Advisor. Wanted to go out to breakfast for my birthday. Food was very good and the server, Heather, was excellent. A little off the beaten path, but well worth the trip. Corned beef hash is yummy.

I have breakfast here every Friday morning & take out lunch once in awhile. The food is great and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Hats off to Cody & Taylor. Pat our waitress is always great.

Sylvia's is a small restaurant in a strip mall. Like everyone else said this place seems to be a local favorite. After eating seafood at every meal I decided to have some comfort food. One of the items on the menu is sausage gravy and biscuits. It's been a long time since I've ate that. The biscuits looked home made... More

Terrific blueberry pancakes and biscuits. Friendly service and happy, laughing hum of regulars and visitors. See other reviews about the Hibernator. I noted that all challengers to the mega humongous meal were male. Just saying. Warning: State Street changes its name alarmingly. Trust your gps
