A local hangout. Good food, good service. The kind of place when you enter they all call "NORM!" Not really but it is that kind of basic food place that is comfortable,

Found Sylvia's after getting my oil changed while on vacation in Bar Harbor. The menu was interesting but the food wasn't. I ordered 3 things for take-out, the Breakfast Burrito, the pancakes "filled" with kielbasa and the french toast sandwich with ham. The home fries that accompanied the burrito and toast were awful. No seasoning, no texture, barely edible. The... More

Came in for breakfast after other family members recommended it. LOTS of food; be sure to be hungry before you arrive! Free coffee is a nice perk here. It seemed to cater to locals as I saw waitresses greet several people with coffee before they ordered...liked the friendly atmosphere!

Waitresses were very friendly, which helped offset issues I had with the kitchen. I first ordered biscuits and gravy. Right before my husbands meal arrived, the waitress came out to tell me the cook just told her they were out of biscuits and gravy. I quickly chose something easy...eggs over hard and crispy bacon. When my second choice arrived, the... More

Sylvia's is great! Home style food that tastes great! Would definitely recommend eating there! They recently underwent a renovation, which made us love it even more!

I love Sylvia's. The waitresses are friendly and the food is always good. French fries and turkey club are the best! Thanks for being consistent.

We stopped in here after a trip to Bar Harbor. The breakfast was excellent and the waitress acted like she had known us for years. Try it!

On our way to Bar Harbor, we stopped at Sylvia's Cafe after reading the reviews in Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. My husband had the fried haddock sandwich, which he said was delicious. I had the pan cooked haddock. It was perfectly done. Both were served with fries and cole slaw. The price is extremely reasonable. The cafe is a... More
