This is a great example of the vanishing American diner with fresh baking and everything prepared on the premises by Martha and her staff. Real flavors from real ingredients. Visit when driving to Mt desert island.

Good grub on the cheap. Perhaps I should say high quality eats on a budget. Friendly staff as well. Only downfall is that they only accept cash.

Headed out of Bar Harbor VERY early on a Saturday morning, we were hunting for a place to have breakfast. We wanted good coffee, and a hearty breakfast for the long trip home. The unassuming sign on the road pointed to a small corner of a strip mall, but there were lots of cars parked out front, so we took... More

We stopped on our way out of town, and had breakfast. Every other seat seemed to be filled by a local. The waitress recommended the crab Benedict, and it was beyond belief! One of the best breakfasts I've ever had! It was expensive, but very much worth it. Lots of kitsch on the walls and shelves, which were fun and... More

Their omelets are very good. I have had sandwiches and burgers and salad's here. I like the atmosphere and that Martha herself is frequently there and always friendly. Music playing. Sometimes a little loud but some old favorites.

Martha's was a great diner and highly recommended by me. The location is strange, in the middle of a strip mall, with a shabby outside appearance. The inside however was interesting with old time memorabilia. As soon as you enter the restaurant a waitress met us and asked what we wanted to drink. The service was fast and friendly. The... More

We were headed to Bar Harbor on a Saturday morning, saw the sign, and decided to give it a try. It was about 9:00 am, and the place was still crowded for breakfast. We were seated immediately, and had coffee almost as soon as we sat down. We found the service excellent and the tables clean. I had a western... More

Just ok. Everyone speaks highly of Martha's but I have found the food to be nothing special. The service is friendly and quick.
