Wonderful pub food and atmosphere

I ended up visiting Finn's after a long day in Acadia. I was excited to see a mix of Irish and pub fare on the menu. I decided to try the Finn's Big Bang, which was basically Bangers and Mash on a roll, and it was super delicious. My mom got the Shepherd's Pie and she said it was also... read more

The place was packed at 6:30 pm! Had to wait for 20 minutes but there is a waiting room so it's ok. Asked the server what was the best meal and she offered us the shepherd pie. We ordered salmon with mashed potatoes and a shepherds pie. The fish was too salty but the pie was good. Most of all-... More

The Pub is one of the few places in town to eat, but the atmosphere is great. The food is pretty good, but a bit over priced. My favorite was the dark grilled bread with sweet cream butter. I actually went back a second time for that. We ate here twice and enjoyed both times. It is a good idea... More

We left Belfast for Ellsworth for lunch at Finn's Pub. Our friends had been there a few weeks earlier and told me that they had Pear cider on tap - something that is very difficult to find where we live! We ended up having lunch...and a fabulous lunch it was. My husband had haddock bites and a Scottish egg and... More

There is something to be said for a restaurant that is actually open late in Ellsworth, especially on a Sunday. Finn's was pretty much it. Being an out of towner and tired of seafood after several days traveling up the coast, Finn's was the right place for a good burger and drinks. It's a laid back and fun atmosphere. We... More

Finn's food is OK, but the big draw has been Smithwick's on tap. Recently however, it has been less than icy cold. The Irish band on Wednesdays was fun, but that seems to have ended. And to top it off, one of the managers/hostesses, a heavy-set young woman, seems to always make people wait for tables, citing "several reservations", "over-worked... More

What a find! Finn's was so much more than I ever expected. We went on a Sunday night (we stayed in Ellsworth for our Acadia adventure so the pub was only a couple miles away). The table ordered the Dublin Mussels which were probably some of the best mussels I've ever had; the broth was so divine we used the... More

My girlfriend and I went here for one of our anniversary's, and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was great and THE POTATOES WERE AMAZING!! When you go there, order the mashed potatoes, I would say its a must! The employees are really awesome and are fun to interact with ( I wish I could remember the names...)

It was a hot day, and the restaurant was stifling, but the food was awesome and the servers were attentive. Some of the best Mac and cheese and bangers and mash ever. We definitely will return!
