Nice place to eat dinner

We were in town on vacation and decided to try Finn's. The guy at our hotel raved about it. Went inside and it was very hot inside as it seemed to have no air conditioning. That didn't matter to anyone as the place was packed on a wednesday night. Had the steak medallions while hubby had the... read more

One thing I have been seeing lately is a lack of accuracy in describing the ingredients in a restaurant meal. Case in point here. Ordered the "mac and frank" which is a simple baked macaroni and cheese with 2 hot dogs. Menu described the mac and cheese as just that. It arrived in its caserole dish hot and crusty. Imagine... We went for dinner on a Wednesday night so it was nice and quiet. The food was good, the service was excellent and friendly staff made it a lovely evening.

My family and I have been enjoying coming to Finns for the last four years during our summer visits to Maine. I am a big fan of the Ellsworth Grinder with an Allagash White from the tap. Comes with mashed with a side of gravy. Yum! My wife loves the the meat pie, the ruben, and, at dinner, the beautiful... More

Juicy and wonderful! Freshly sautéed mushrooms, generous cheese, on a substantial bun. Garlic mashed potatoes as the side made for a memorable lunch.

We were camping in Lemoine state park, and were very pleased to find this gem of a restaurant! The service: Excellent! Our waitress was pleasant, helpful and attentive. In fact every employee we encountered was the same. When our food was ready someone else pleasantly brought it out to our table, instead of letting it sit in the kitchen under... More

I like the burgers and the wraps, and I had a great salad there. I'm not too crazy about the shepherd's pie--it wasn't that good. This is a typical pub, and I try to avoid the back room, as it can be quite noisy with some kind of musical band. The wait staff is friendly and it's an okay place... More

Love Finn's! Food is wonderful...staff excellent. Sometimes a little noisy for our taste...we try to go at less busy times. Great asset for the Ellsworth area

Went on a suggestion of a local and cannot say how good it was. It was by far the best dinner I had in Ellsworth. Sat at the bar and ordered the bangers and mash which he bartender recommended. It seriously was one of the best dinners I ever had. Bartender was very friendly. I give it 10 stars. Will... More

For a restaurant, it's all about the food and the atmosphere, right? This place has that covered The food was excellent. We had a mega-drippy burger (just the way we love it), and a tasty Shepherd's pie. Our server was genuinely warm and friendly, and we loved the decor and learning the history of the restaurant.
