I admit, walking in I had my doubts. Granted, it was midafternoon well after tourist season but the place was dead. I was the only non-local. Dining room had one couple that gave me a look that let me know it. I decided to eat back in the bar. Good choice. The bar staff made me feel like a regular.... More

My wife and I spend four months in Maine during the summer and visit Eastport often. The Happy Crab remains one of our favorite restaurants. On our last visit I had beep fried shrimp and my wife had fish. As usual, both choices were excellent. Not unlike other restaurants in Maine, service is a little slow and there are always... More

We had the special of chicken fajita soup and sandwich. The HOMEMADE soup was excellent! We each ordered the Reuben on marbled rye bread for our sandwich ... very tasty as well. As an appetizer we had the mussels with garlic, butter, and white wine dipping sauce. They too were excellent. I love a good soup so I ordered some... More

I eat-out a lot and seafood is a mainstay and cook a lot of it at home as well. When I drove into Eastport around 1 pm and needed some lunch I saw this place and decided to give it a try--it had a sign out front saying lobster rolls-$14. The name of the place is Happy Crab and it... More

Stopped by for a bite, wife had the cheeseburger (good, not great) and I had a small meat lovers pizza, quite good. Service was slow, but there was just the bartender to tend bar and wait tables. Would return.

Fantastic food, made fresh! Seafood right off the boat, and great service too! Our waitress was wonderful--the dining room and bar were full of local folks catching dinner and watching the Monday night game in the bar too! The fishcakes rivaled my Mother's--no kidding!

Good service, great beer and very tasty food offerings. We, a party of 8 pirates from Nova Scotia, taking part in the Eastport Pirate Festival, had supper on the deck and enjoyed many offerings. A local gentleman recommended the Lobster Mac and Cheese.....yup, and I, being a brave pirate, decided to partake of this offering to rave reviews! Came with... More

My plan was to go to Quoddy Bay for a lobster roll but the ferry person recommended this place for lobster rolls instead. No hostess so I sat myself. Nobody gave me a menu so I got one myself. There was one waitress for the dining room. Nobody waited on me. I was there 15 minutes. During that time a... More

The food was good, but not inspired or amazing, and the atmosphere is definitely small town diner. The service in the dining area was good, but the noise from the bar carries over, so if you're concerned about colorful language, you should be aware of that. Hubby had the scallop roll, and the scallops were very good. I had the... More
