I had heard about the Damariscotta River Grill for a while now, and my husband and I finally decided to try it. It was a great choice...we were very pleased with not only the delicious food, but the very friendly staff. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food, and we made a reservation to come back with friends before... More

I reviewed this place about a year ago and raved about the baked haddock, gave it three stars (very rare). but criticized the website and the wine list..To managements credit the website has been improved and the wine list expanded...Bravo!.We visit this place three or four times a year. My overall evaluation is that it has lost a step or... More

Came here 2 years ago and it is still a very good restaurant. I had the Barbecue shrimp again and should have ordered the meal with even more shrimp. Also enjoyed the desserts. The only complaint I have was the fact that for at least half our meal the large party behind us was so loud that it was difficult... More

A group of 7 of us all had different meals from the menu and the specials list and all were very happy with their choices. A very welcoming place with eating on two floors and an upstairs bar. The 1/2 price apps at happy hour are a fine way to start and the specials are creative in a good way.... More

The choice was that of my aunt who lives in a retirement community in Damariscotta. She's been there quite a few times and the staff all know her and love her, which is a delight. We wandered in without reservations--although I suspect when the summer tourists are packing down a reservation is a good idea. Our server Natalie was adorable... More

My friend and I met and talked over drinks at happy hour. We loved their half priced appetizers during that time, the steamed mussels are a must to order!

Walk-ins beware! My mother and I decided to have an early dinner and couldn't wait to have our favorite.. duck confit!! We arrived and were greeted or not so greeted by who we later found out was Bev. She asked if we had a reservation, we did not as it was 4:50pm and the dining room was dead. Bev looked... More

Desperate for somewhere to lunch on Sunday for my birthday with a group of seven , we settled on the grill . They did seat us at an isolated table in the back , but the open kitchen nearby was very noisy with frequent bursts or hooting & hollering from the cooks . No one seemed overly thrilled with their... My first words upon sitting down Sunday were the I had forgotten how much I love this restaurant. From their first opening of the restaurant, the feeling has always been like a giant exhale. Leave the world behind, and now it is time to relax and enjoy. We had a delicious Easter brunch served by the delightful, ever vivacious Kayla.... More
