I don't really have anything negative to say about this restaurant, except for my personal preferences. I've been there several times (5 times over the past 7 years) and am not thrilled with their menu. What meals I have had were good however I prefer more robust menu items with a bit more meat and potatos - but thats me.... More

We are locals and went recently with friends and their young son for a relaxed breakfast. ( I cook breakfast for a living and had no desire to do so that morning). We had a large table next to the fireplace. PERFECT. Our friend's son was given a coloring book and crayons. The breakfast menu was superb. The waitress was... More

I appreciate any restaurant that provides a vegetarian/vegan menu. And Salt Bay's is very nice, indeed! This cozy restaurant, right in the center of Damariscotta, is a great asset to the region, where vegetarian options are hard to find in the middle of fabulous seafood everywhere. They have intriguing nightly specials, but the regular menu is quite varied as well.... More

The Chef is the best; the service is great; and so's the food.

Good menu selection and always a nicely prepared meal. This is a place that can be counted on for its consistency.

Mom and Dad always bragged about the food and the traditional atmosphere at this place. We went together and I [too] found that they were right. I am sure my favorite is the all American Cheese Burger and the salad but what I was most sure of is having a BIG crush on the waitress!! Hi Emily, It's your Knight... More

I have been here before and the food was good but last summer when I went the food was bad. A friend convinced me to try again so I went with a group, I ordered the Trio Mushroom dish which was quite expensive, and it was not just bad it was disgusting, stale greasy flavor and the grease stood out... Stopping to ask a local about breakfast eateries has always proven to be a good idea. This time was no different. Our waitress, Peanut, greeted us with open arms and entertained us with local stories throughout the meal. The breakfast menu is HUGE! No one in our party of six ordered the same thing and we were all pleased. From... More

We stopped by for lunch (noon-1p) during the October 2011 Fall Pumpkin Festival. Needless to say, they had quite a menu of pumpkin items. The place was packed, but we were seated within 5 minutes. I had one of the specials - cranberry-walnut chicken salad sandwich on grilled pumpkin bread served with a small salad. Very unique sandwich with being... More
