Dennett's disappoints again, primarily due to poor service. The hostess/manager greeted us with near-hostility, though we arrived at a decent time when the rush hour had passed and closing was still hours away. The waitress was surly despite our attempts at friendliness. Here's a thought----if you don't enjoy working with the public, you find different employment? Dennett's charges top dollar... More

Really beautiful spot if your in Castine. We started with steamed mussels and I wasn't impressed. Leave out the carrots & celery and add more garlic, wine, or Sofrito sauce & serve Prince Edward Island Mussels please. My son had fried clams & said they were good. I had a lobster roll that was also good. They have 27 beers... More

The bar inside is great. The patio overlooking the Castine harbor even better. Impressive beer list. Food is nothing special but decent - but who cares with a view this good.

The seafood at Dennett's Wharf warped our palette's with flavor. From the clam chowder soup, steamed clams and lucious lobster, every bite proved memorable.

we ate both lunch and dinner @ Dennets and let me tell you; excellent all the way. fresh oysters and clams on the half shell were perfect and briny. Fish was great as were the homemade beans. the homemade onion rings were to die for!! the staff were very nice and accommodating from front to back and would like to... More

Dennett's has a new raw bar out on the patio. A variety of oysters, clams, crab and more. Nice service people, great atmosphere. Had a delicious lobster dinner with sweet corn, tasty cole slaw, flavorful clam chowder and a fresh salad.

In good weather, the views from this restaurant make it worth a visit. Lots of beers and even beer samplers are available. The food is just OK - not really worth making a special trip. Calamari, lobster rolls, fish & chips, pulled pork sandwiches, etc. were all good but not particularly memorable. The service was pretty good and efficient, but... More

My wife ordered the lobster roll without mayo and they were able to do that, showed the quality and freshness of real Maine lobster. Burger was good as well. Great service at the bar!

We used to stop at Dennett's Wharf when we motored our cruiser from Port Clyde to the Kennebec River. Now we travel by RV and visited Castine and Dennett's after a few years hiatus. I had the clam chowder and my wife the calamari. They were just as we remembered...excellent.The ceiling used to be covered with dollar bills, but they... More

Paul Broulliard runs a very nice over-the-water eatery that looks out over Castine Harbor. There are tables outside under umbrellas, outside within a protected (from wind or sun) or inside. In addition there is a very long "oyster bar" inside and a small outside bar where many locals habit. The food is good, especially if Paul himself cooks (he is... More
