We chanced upon this restaurant and are so glad we stopped. We ate outside with great views of the water. The clam chowder was the best I have ever eaten - what a grand surprise. The service was friendly and prompt.

We went for the view and really enjoyed the food. My husband had lobster salad and it looked like there was at least two lobsters in it. I had pastrami on rye and it was super good. We each had local drinks, his cider and my wharfs rat ale. These were also yummy. Service isn't really fast but it wasn't... More

We took guests from VA for dinner. Food was very good, as was the service - quick and friendly. The prices are a little high, but appropriate for nice portions of fresh seafood during the summer in Maine (a time and place when things are expensive). We had a great view of the bay, then enjoyed a short walk along... More

slow service, uncertain drink arrival time and food not up to prior standards. Try Danny Murphys (smaller and you can get a drink faster)

We came into Denette's in need of a tasty, but no-frills dinner with prompt service. Mission accomplished! Dining on the wharf overlooking the harbor was relaxing. Our server was friendly and efficient. We started with the excellent clam chowder--some of the best I've ever eaten. We then opted for fried seafood dishes. My fried scallops were delicious; fried to perfection.... More

Everyone in our party had good food but the best was the dessert. Must also say that our waitress was very good.

We went with some friends and three of them had oysters as an appetizer, the waiter suggested a mixed of them. Our friends were in heaven. We all had the typical lobster roll and it was wonderful as well. Service was great.

Castine, ME is a picturesque Maine town - one of the oldest in New England. We had hoped to tour the Maine Maritime Academy training ship but could not on the day we were there. We wanted a late lunch and found dining options limited and ended up at Dennett's. We found the patio dining area enjoyable and with a... More

My husband and I have been going here for years. This year, we have stopped going so regularly, but tonight we went after a concert on the town green. We got there at 7:15 and had reservations. The server was fantastic, but she just could not make up for whatever problems were going on in the kitchen. We did not... More

We enjoyed the food that Dennett's supplied on the Guildive sailing cruise that we took, so we decided to have dinner there later in the week. The chowder is excellent and rich and the salads are divine and fresh. The pickled onions are really good! Service isn't the best, but the waitress seemed very busy serving large parties. I think...
