Arriving in three sloops and one pick-up, our crew of twelve found delight in dining at the Pentagoet. We were welcomed to Castine with a morning call to confirm the reservations for 12 made several weeks in advance. The evening began, as usual, in the pub, where we mingled with new and old friends over favorite cocktails, negronis, mojitos, and... More

My husband and I stayed at the Pentagoet Inn and made dinner reservations at the time we booked the room. As we checked in we could see the dining room which was relatively large but also warm and inviting. We also noticed some small tables for two on the porch. We asked to be seated there and the waitress promptly... More

The lamb chops were outstanding, cooked to a perfect medium-rare. The mussels were fantastic, and the lobster and corn chowder was an excellent starter. Service was superb and the inn's owners are always a pleasure to deal with. Clearly one of the finest restaurants in Maine. I don't even wince at the thought of dropping $100 on a meal there.

my wife and I just returned home after a great weekend in Castine. The Pentagoet Inn should be at the top of your list while visiting this quaint village. Staff and owners were very accommodating and the restaurant and bar live up to their reputation. it's a great base to stay while visiting the area. we will return.

This is one of our must stops when we are in the area. Not only is the food always outstanding, but the inn itself is charming and the owner, Jack, is a fascinating and gracious host. You will never regret making Jack and the Pentagoet a part of your memories!

The Pentagoet Inn is one of our favorite places to stay. Our most recent visit included dinner in the restaurant. My husband will always order bouilliabase when it is on the menu and this was the best he's had. My short ribs were delicious and the vegetables a perfect balance of tastes. The full breakfast is equally wonderful with a... More

Very Victorian with lots of antiques. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. The breakfasts are terrific as are the afternoon pastries. The service is very friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. The owners and staff see to your every need. The little bar area is quite cozy and comfortable.

Our trip to Castine to visit a nephew who is attending the Maine Maritime Academy was pleasantly centered around our lodging at the Pentagoet Inn. As we checked into our room and were shown the welcoming features of the Inn’s sitting rooms and cozy pub I became a bit concerned upon learning that this was the last night of a... More

We chose the Pentagoet Inn in Castine,Maine because we wanted to avoid the summer congestion of Camden and Bar Harbor. What a beautiful historic inn with friendly innkeepers Jack and Julie. Our room, a suite, was lovely, quiet, comfortable, and beautifully furnished. We dined at the inn's restaurant on a Tuesday evening. After breakfast at the inn and a day... More
