Our trip to Castine to visit a nephew who is attending the Maine Maritime Academy was pleasantly centered around our lodging at the Pentagoet Inn. As we checked into our room and were shown the welcoming features of the Inn’s sitting rooms and cozy pub I became a bit concerned upon learning that this was the last night of a... More

We chose the Pentagoet Inn in Castine,Maine because we wanted to avoid the summer congestion of Camden and Bar Harbor. What a beautiful historic inn with friendly innkeepers Jack and Julie. Our room, a suite, was lovely, quiet, comfortable, and beautifully furnished. We dined at the inn's restaurant on a Tuesday evening. After breakfast at the inn and a day... More

My wife and I spent a night at the Pentagoet Inn which is a great bed & breakfast in Camden, . For dinner we experienced great dinning in their restaurant The food was great, service was spot on. And to top it off, the deserts were diet busting good! We will be back next year, and plan on staying and... More

Ambience - This is a very nice looking Victorian Inn that has been well maintained. The atmosphere is genteel yet relaxed. While they cater to the casual tourists that frequent town, I'd feel very comfortable going there for a "dress up" special occasion. Service - Very friendly, attentive and efficient. Food - Great gourmet dining experience. We were started off... More

The Pentagoet Inn is far and away the best restaurant in Castine. Enjoyed their salads and small plates during a recent trip - crabcakes were excellent, scallop chowder was great, the salads crisp and fresh, and the desserts - the lemon/blueberry crème brulee in particular - were well worth the extra calories.

Charming atmosphere and quality cooking make this Castine restaurant a delightful dining experience. Pleasant service and expertly prepared food from local sources received high marks from our visiting European guests while cruising to this historic region of Maine. The wine list seemed to offer something for everyone at surprisingly reasonable prices. This is the place for fine dining in Castine.

Fine dining in the heart of Castine's historic downtown. Order the scallops or the lobster with pasta and you will not be disappointed. Restaurant is in a historic Victorian inn and serves locally sourced ingredients.

There aren't a whole lot of choices in Castine, and we were staying at th Pentagoet, so the restaurant there was the obvious choice. Luckily it wasn't just convenient, it was very tasty.

Exploring Maine's coast by sea means lots of stops for relaxed, casual, or fine dining. Cocktails and dinner at the Pentagoet is a must will cruising northern Penobscot Bay. The bar/library offers books, games, comfortable seating, and an atmosphere worthy of amateur historians who can guess the names of all the world leaders, many of them despots, whose portraits fill... Like clockwork, every 4th of July for the last 15 years, our family has stayed at the Pentagoet Inn in Castine, Maine. And, right after making our reservation to stay at this charming, turn-of-the-century inn on the beautiful coast of Maine, we make our restaurant reservations for as many nights as we are staying at the Inn. We consider the... More
