Great find off the beaten path

This is an absolutely great resturaunt. Small and quaint with tons of charm. The food is fresh and fantastic. Fried lobster is one of their specialties. Yes, I said fried lobster. It is a must try. Not heavy and greasy. Very moist and tender with a light batter. Prices are really reasonable and... read more

Since my earlier review of this landmark when it first opened, I stopped for lunch with my sisters-in-law and certainly had a much better experience. The lobster bisque was very good, though would have liked more lobster! One sister-in-law had the speciality sandwich of the day and thoroughly enjoyed it. Have not tried the restaurant for dinner yet, but certainly... More

Great cheery family-friendly restaurant where you feel like one of the neighbors - or wish you were! We were greeted with smiles and welcomed to enjoy our BYOB bottle of wine. The deep-fried lobster (only place doing lobster this way Maine) was delicious. Don't miss it, it's worth the trip!

After one full year of planning our daughters wedding weekend, which included the rehearsal dinner at the Wayfarer, we could not have imagined that the pre celebration dinner would be a TEN STAR experience. First let me say that owner, and amazing woman Dee Lewis, who I had never met until this Friday at the rehearsal dinner, held my hand... More

Over our 5 day stay in Maine, this was our favorite dinner. The fried lobster entree was outstanding. And the fact that it was BYOB made it even better. This was an awesome recommendation from our hotel.

We arranged for a private party at the Wayfarer this past weekend for a surprise 70th Birthday for my Dad. The chef helped us to put together a set menu & dealt with all of our questions & concerns. They are BYO which worked out perfectly, & even allowed us to bring our own cake! Although a small restaurant, they... More

We weren't sure where to stop to eat lunch. While exploring the area, we decided on The Wayfarer. The service was excellent! Out waitress was super friendly and quick. We had the lobster Mac and cheese, pork belly sliders, and a lobster stir fry. The food was the best we had on our trip. Absolutely delicious - the chef knows... More

Great food, great breakfast, great lunch. This is where the locals come to eat. Must try. This menu will blow you away on how diverse it is from lamb to lobsta.

A gem! Outstanding menu and it's BYOB! We had the bacon wrapped haddock and the surf and turf risotto (lobster & lamb). We both are gluten free and we had no issue. Entrees are a bit small for the American diet so an appetizer might be a fine idea. A bit off the beaten path but worth the drive!
