we have visited many places, but the Wayfarer was the best meal we had in a long time. the restaurant was recommended to us by our innkeepers, what a great choice! great restaurant in Cape Porpoise, very charming and the service was incredible. Reservations are a must. The food was out of this world!! My husband had the fried lobster,... More

Had the best breakfast I have ever had here. The scramble of the day was lobster, Parmesan and bok choy and it was the most delicious egg I recall ever having. The homemade (real meat no dog food type hash) was also quite tasty. DInner of pork shanks that just fell off the bone also quite yummy. Locals eat here... More

We happened upon this restaurant and are glad we did. The staff was super friendly and kind. The food was really good. We were lucky to have found this place and that they were able to seat us.

We came here on the recommendation of our B&B host. We were very late and came close to closing time but were given a seat. The service was super friendly - only to be outdone by the lobster which we had come for. This is deep fried lobster - which surprisingly did not render the meat tough or chewy as... More

Called in around 7pm on a Tuesday evening without a reservation. Seated right away. Had taken own wine as it says in the window BYOB (no corkage). Warm bread rolls and water are brought to you. Pork belly starter was superb. Burger was excellent, my wife had haddock wrapped in bacon which was excellent. The lady who served us was... More

A simple cozy setting with wonderful food. The salmon was as good as any I have had anywhere. Moist and flavorful. This chef really knows how to season food! Also delicious was a side dish of sweet potato gratin. My husband had braised pork shanks which he loved. Even the broccoli was cooked perfectly. But the best of all is... More

We've eaten here several times this summer, most recently last Saturday. I've never ordered the same entree twice and always left full and totally satisfied. It helps that everyone on the staff is cheerful and seemingly happy to see us even though we've never had the same server twice. Everyone that we've brought with us has been really happy. You... We were looking for a place that served lobster Benedict. .. when we asked our hotel clerk she recommended the Wayfarer... it was a short drive from Dock square so we tried it. We were not disappointed..the lobster Benedict was fabulous.. the bacon was crisp and the coffee was great.. our waitress was pleasant and very accommodating. ..a word of... More

Great food at reasonable prices, especially as compared to the other local restaurants. We had a great dinner and came back a few days later for breakfast.

Great recommendation from friends. A local, small restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We visited for breakfast last weekend. We were seated pretty quickly, given the number of parties waiting. We were seated next to a local couple who have been patrons for many years, through 3-4 owners. They complimented the current owners and shared some of the history... More
