We went for lunch and ordered pulled pork and a salmon sandwich. The salmon was good, but fairly bland, which is okay for some people (including me). The pulled pork was tasty, but was very modest in size (read "small") and contained a good bit of fatty parts of the pork. When one eats pulled pork, one can expect some... More

I can't say enough good things about the Wayfarer, but here goes. We went for breakfast based on some t=of the reviews and returned for dinner. Breakfast: The whole menu looked excellent. They do their own baking, make their own sausage and use real maple syrup. We had the special - hummus omelet. Who would think of hummus in an... More

The Wayfarer is one of those places that you go for a good home cooked meal - whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner. The atmosphere is homey - not showy. Being locals we tend to not venture there in the summer months so we ventured out for breakfast a few weeks ago and WOW! We hadn't been in since the... More

A hidden gem tucked away in Cape Porpoise, only a short drive from Kennebunkport. The service is excellent and ultra friendly. The food is also excellent, we stopped in for lunch and enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich and a BLT. The chef is from Charleston, SC and smokes his own pork butts out back. We will return and give dinner... More

As soon as you walk in you feel so welcomed , like you are at a family dinner. The hospitality is exceptional and everyone works as a team. The food is amazing , so fresh and delicious. I usually go there for breakfast but decided to stop in one night and was floored. They put their passion for food and... More

A wonderful place, newly renovated, friendly and informed staff, and the food--outstanding. Two of our party had pork shanks (which all of us had never heard of) and loved them, another had salmon which she said was the best she had ever had, and my shrimp risotto was perfect. It's BYOB, reservations are a must, and open year 'round.

Ordered the Haddock chowder. What I got was a bowl of undercooked cubed potatoes with the peel still on, onions, celery, and two very tiny flakes of fish. The broth was very salty and watery. This is a Maine tradition so this recipe needs to be tweaked to reflect Haddock Chowder. What was served today was poor. The wait staff... More

You don't have to be a regular to receive a welcome as if you were arriving home. The Staff at The Wayfarer have been greeting locals, Lobstermen and summering executives for years, but the recent renovations offer a beautiful light filled space that shares the brightness, energy and kindness of the staff. The charm of The Wayfarer from yesteryear is... More

On Main street, Cape Porpoise in Kennebunkport, a small, hometown restautant which specializes in good food and friendliness. We discovered it when looking for a "walk to" restaurant. Small, CLEAN, friendly waitstaff and a very nice menu with varied choices. We walked down for breakfast one morning and liked it so much we decided to come back for dinner !... More

My family had a lovely breakfast at the Wayfarer! The food was good quality, the prices we reasonable and the service was friendly. This place is busy so be prepared for a wait on busy weekends. Definitely planning to return!
