We stopped by around 6pm and were able to get in without dinner reservations. Nice place, a bit cramped, but great food and service. It was reasonably priced, for the Kennebunkport area. We were happy the menu was varied... It had food other than fried seafood. Lobster Mac and cheese was yummy. It is a BYOB restaurant, so don't expect... More

Under new ownership! The old place has been completely redone. Intimate and small but cute and charming now! Food is great. It's a different menu than the local tourist spots. They have lobster - but it's fried in the shell. Two in our party had fried chicken and waffles. They loved it. One had the chicken breast pot pie. He... More

We had a delightful dinner here; the staff is outstanding, the food excellent! We all tried something different: whole lobster that is fried, bacon wrapped haddock, swordfish, chicken pot pie, lobster mac 'n cheese, and a hamburger. We commented that it is hard to have that many people in a dinner party rave about their meal. Surely a wonderful little... More

Sparked by a review in Maine Magazine we returned to the Wayfarer. The restaurant is under new management and has been renovated. The restaurant has retained its former charm- a very simple Main diner. This is a very casual restaurant where's kids are welcome. It is also BYOB. Fortunately there is a grocery store across the street that has a... More

Five of us dined there this week. FANTASTIC, friendly service. Our waitress was lovely. The ambiance is really special…fantastic job on renovation. Our haddock in bacon was tasty but too small a portion (and I am not a big eater). The salad was fresh but could use a bit more creativity. The side veggies (that were a separate charge) were... Went here with the family, 3 kids (13, 10, 7). We were dehydrated, over- hungry and hot after just going for a canoe ride. The waitress was quick to get us "stat" drinks and brought out food out quickly. The ribs were great, but the BBQ sauce was too sweet. The fried local shrimp were outstanding. Usually not a fan... We called in here for a lunch stop and found it quite busy but managed to get a seat, good choice on the menu and interesting specials. Service was good and the food lived up to expectations. What a great find for lunch.

We always make sure to go to the Wayfarer when we're in Kennebunkport. We hadn't been to the East Coast for several years, so we were looking forward to returning to the restaurant. A year or two ago, it was purchased. Here's the good and the bad. The good: Food is excellent. The new dishes include things other than sea... More

We've been going to the Wayfarer off and on for close to 30 years. It's small (as in cozy) and easy to get to, although the most beautiful route is along Ocean Avenue in Kennebunkport. It used to be 'hey, it's pot roast night' at the Wayfarer (for a great price), then it was bought out and run down. Last... More
