Delicious Food/ Terrific Service

This bistro is so cute and gets great reviews so we were surprised with our experience this weekend. What went wrong? Something was amiss in the kitchen. It started out fine with a nice bottle of wine, good service, and a delicious appetizer of oysters. Unfortunately, our meals just never worked out. My husband's fish came out first and my... More

Francine's is an absolute jewel. Wife and I had dinner on Saturday night. Packed place but very accommodating staff. Food was excellent (the oysters were absolutely amazing). We had three courses which were well spaced and timed. The only negative (which is probably a function of how busy they were) was the time it took to get drinks refilled and... More

Have been going to Francine's for more years then I can count. Jim the GM was always fabulous as well as the servers who were all locals. Times have changed even though the owner/chef is still the same. Service is still important.

We recently ate at Francine Bistro on a busy weekend night, arrived a few minutes early for our reservation, were seated promptly and attended to very efficiently & professionally throughout the meal by various friendly waitstaff. For appetizers we had the leek soup and an incredible butternut squash salad with hazelnut topping. Our entrees were supremely fresh scallops with crispy... More

Picked this place as the 'best restaurant' open in Camden in early January for a special birthday. It is small and quirky. The food was not as good as other far-less expensive places. Service was also lacking.

romantic small restraint in the heart of Camden, Maine. Delicious food, using local meats, seafood and produce. The bartender makes a mean cocktail, and the Irish Coffee is not to be missed.

It was New Year's Eve, so Francine's was booked solid. We waited almost an hour for our table to clear, but I don't blame Francine's because our group needed a bigger table and the group at that table simply did not want to leave. So the staff checked on us frequently and bought our first round of drinks. Once seated,... More

We had dinner at Francine's last night after it had been highly recommended by a friend. We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation but were seated fairly promptly. This was a good thing as there is absolutely no place to wait; the only option is standing awkwardly just inside the front door. It's Christmas week, so the place... More

We almost didn't stay because of how poorly we were greeted. We arrived right on time for 7:30 reservations. There were other people gathered in the tiny vestibule. No one greeted us or spoke to us, so we started asking others in line. When I finally flagged someone down to ask if there was someplace we should check in -... More
