The food here is consistently good. There are a variety of creative specials every night. Don't miss the chowder, because it's fabulous. Whether you sit at the bar, the tavern, or the dining room with view of Camden Harbor, you won't be disappointed. The owner is almost always there with a welcome smile for you --and a dogbiscuit for your... More

Despite the recent renovations, the menu is "ho hum" ditto the wine selections. I agree with one of the other reviews regarding the service....very slip shod...the wait staff could do with some customer service training. Lunch is better than dinner. Will try dinner one more time.

We were left with the impressions that the staff at Cappy's just don't care! We tried to go to the restaurant for dinner but stood (tried standing in two different places) and waited for 10 minutes before anyone even spoke to us. We then discovered we'd have to wait for 10 minutes for a table. We waited a while, but... More

While we were a bit cramped at our table (they only had the bar open for dinner), we had a very nice meal. All our food was excellent. The wait staff and owner were very friendly. Loved the decor.

We each ordered the chowder, my husband the clam and I the haddock. Mine wasn't great. The haddock had obviously not been added to the soup recently, since it had disintegrated into small tough pieces, and the chowder contained celery, which is not traditional, in my view.

Visited here for lunch while celebrating my Husband's Birthday. Food was ok. I ordered the lobster roll. Not very big for 17.00 bucks. Server was a bit overwhelmed with our party of 8. St Patrick's Day weekend and not much happening in town so we decided to stay put and continue celebrating at the bar. Shipsview promotion with prizes for... More

The first day we got to our Maine vacation, my husband wanted to eat some seafood. Since we had two very tired kids, we knew that going out that going out was not an option, so we decided on take out So I can't tell you about service or atmosphere. But the food that my husband brought back was great.... More

There was great hope that new ownership would improve the average quality of the restaurant. Disappointing. The chowder which was a staple and a pride of the former ownership is not as good. The fare is non creative and mundane.

We went here our second night and loved it. Only part of it was opened. They closed down most of it during the winter. Yet, the close quarters added to the feeling of camaraderie and good cheer. I would recommend this as a place for both eating but also for a drink before or after dinner. Try the mulled wine... More

We dined here on Valentine's Night but were only looking for a small and simple supper. had a special menu for Valentines, a Pub type menu, and a regular menu - great selection and reasonable prices. We split a seafood meal and I had a bowl of seafood chowder. The seafood was cooked perfectly and the chowder was one of... More
