Ranked #3 of 47 restaurants in Camden
Certificate of Excellence 2014
Cuisines: Seafood
Description: This is a new owner/operator of an existing roadside seafood joint. It is directly accross from Mount Battie State park in Camden Maine north of the town of Camden itself by about one mile. I think it's #247 Belfast road but that's also known as route 1. This place serves AMAZING fried seafood and home made chowder.

Perfect cooked to order fish, fries and ice cream treats after a long day hiking or exploring. Simple but wonderfully done.

Stopped for icecream after our hike in Camden Hills State park. Good, lots of flavor choices. Service was good, but we only had the icecream.

It was just as wonderful as all of the reviews said. The best haddock sandwich ever and fried scallops that were amazing! Real chowder - not the over-thickened stuff you usually get- was a winner, too.

If you get a plain cheeseburger basket and campfire smores shake you will have a food orgasm and be enslaved to the food gods known as Kevin and Garry that own Mount Battie Take Out. My group of friends and I that were camping in the Ski Shelter not too far away for 2 weeks came here probably 10 times... More

You will not be disappointed in the fare. It is quite good and satisfying. Perhaps a little pricey for take out roadside, but I would go back. The scallops were juicy and hot. (Why do New Englanders think slaw is a condiment and serve it in an itty bitty paper cup?)

We stayed at the Inn At Sunrise Point and passed this roadside stand several times during our visit. It was always packed! So, on our last day we decided to give it a try. Not content with eating my way through Maine lobsters pretty much throughout my week here, I ordered a lobster roll. The owner offered fries and coleslaw... More

My family camped in Camden Hills State Park which is right across the road from this restaurant. We had two meals at Mount Battie Take Out and ice cream one night. The food was delicious. We had lobster rolls, clam chowder and fried scallops. The prices are reasonable. The lobster roll tasted great. The scallops were a family favorite. They... More

This is a wonderful little take out place! The location can't be beat. Right off of Route 1, across from Camden Hills State Park. My husband and I spent a week in the area on vacation and tried to make a point of trying a different restaurant each day. However, we ended up here for lunch three days! We would... More
