out of business in February 2014 seems too bad. Nice looking place on a nice street. I'm trying to tell people that this place is now closed so the reviews should stop and it should be taken off the list of places to eat.

We had great service from both waitresses and the menu satisfied two relatively choosy palates for around $60 including 3 drinks.

We elected to go to 57 Bayview on the recommendation of our B&B, despite reading some questionable reviews. The atmosphere is quite quaint, and the service was great, very friendly and attentive. But the food was appalling. And I mean bad. It looked as if all the ingredients were dropped in a pan, stirred around over some heat, and then... More

57 Bayview Bar & Bistro came as a nice surprise on a quiet Monday night when many of the local standbys were closed. A small bistro/bar restaurant, it didn't seem to promise more than a good burger or sandwich and drinks from the street view. We were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was cozy, and included upstairs dining as well as... More

I was looking forward to dinner at 57 but it was disappointing from beginning to end. We have been there a number of times. it used to be one of the better places to eat in Camden. No longer. The restaurant was not overly busy but service was very slow and the food was poor. It was capped off by... More

Great experience; great food. We read several reviews (including the negative). The food, the drinks and the staff were terrific. We had the pleasure of meeting the "co" owner. Thanks for a wonderful evening & conversation. Don't believe the negative posts.

This is a good example of what happens when a restaurant tries to overreach itself. There is an attempt to serve "gourmet" dishes that falls completely flat. Heavy on the cheese and salt -- telltale signs of mediocrity. They would be better off sticking to honest bar food and doing it well.

Arrived into town after a touring Freeport/shopping and venture out to grab dinner with my wife and another couple friends. We looked at various venues and saw that 57 Bayview was highly rated and thought we would try. I am not sure why 57 Bayview was highly recommended, all four of us found the place very rude and unfriendly. Even... More

I knew we were in trouble when from the moment we sat down the was insulting. She acted like we were doing her a favor by dining there. Menu was very limited and should have had more than 3 seafood dishes seeing as though it is two blocks from the water. Overall a VERY disappointing experience.

Had a wonderful meal. Maine lobster on a bed of risotto was the best, wonderful dessert menu. Quaint, clean restaurant with very helpful and courteous staff. Will definitely eat there again. You must call for reservations, they are one of the better restaurants and are in demand.
